Mod Introduction

MITE_Equilibrium

This mod uses Fabric 1.21 as its framework, recreating most of the classic settings from MITE-R196 and adding other details to improve the gameplay experience.

This is a linear progression experience with the goal of liberating the End. There are no overly flashy details; your task is to carefully consider the current environment and make the right choices.

Mod Content

New Player Status & Level System

Players start with only 6 health and hunger points. The maximum increases to 20 as the experience level rises.

Recipes for the automatic crafting table have been removed. Crafting now takes time; the more complex the item, the longer it takes. Higher experience levels and better crafting tables can reduce crafting time.

Natural health regeneration from food has been removed. Health naturally regenerates by 1 point every 960 game ticks. Regeneration speed is reduced to 1/4 of the normal rate when malnourished (caused by lack of vegetable/fruit intake).

The player's block breaking and attack range are significantly reduced, but some items or weapons can extend this range. Sneaking can also extend it.

Breaking blocks becomes very time-consuming. Most blocks cannot be broken by hand.

Players need to use axe-type tools to collect logs.

Most portable blocks and functional blocks placed by the player can be collected by hand.

New Lifestyles and Changes to World Generation

In the early game, players primarily fill their stomachs by hunting animals and gathering plants. Crop growth speed becomes extremely slow, making large-scale farming impractical.

Players need to continuously collect gravel to obtain flint, flint fragments, and metal nuggets. Flint can be used to make your first crafting table. Collected copper and silver nuggets can be used to make higher-tier metal crafting tables. Only after crafting the first copper pickaxe does the player gain the ability to mine stone and minerals.

Villages will only generate after an iron pickaxe has been crafted and a sufficiently long time has passed. Villages no longer naturally generate villagers, but crops remain. Players can collect these crops and then choose a suitable settlement location to start developing.

Most natural structures, including villages, mineshafts, ruined portals, and shipwrecks, will only generate sufficiently far away from the world origin. Strongholds are an exception, but a stronghold containing an End Portal will only be found at least 12,000 blocks away from the origin on the X and Z axes. Only strongholds containing an End Portal can be located by Eyes of Ender. If no such structure is nearby, the Eye of Ender cannot be thrown.

New Metal Ores

Copper, Silver, Mithril, and Adamantium metals have been added to the game. Some metals have unique properties; for example, dealing the final blow to an undead mob with a Silver Dagger or Silver Sword grants a regeneration effect.

Vanilla tools are restricted. Wooden, Stone, and Diamond tools have been removed (the wooden shovel is retained), and the durability of all tools is greatly reduced. Creating mining tunnels in the early game is impossible; you can only collect exposed minerals from cave surfaces, etc.

Compass Change: Players can right-click a compass to get their current coordinates.

Portal Changes, New Dimension, and Adjusted Nether Entry Conditions

Activating a nether portal built anywhere in the Overworld teleports the player to the world spawn point (or near the player's last slept bed).

Activating a nether portal built on top of the bedrock ceiling in the Overworld teleports the player to the Underground World. This is a completely new cave world dimension, extremely dark and dangerous, with very high exploration difficulty. It is recommended to immediately block off the portal upon arrival.

Diamond, Mithril, and Adamantium ore veins can only be found in the Underground World. Acquiring the previous tier of metal is necessary to craft better tools and mine harder ores.

Large bodies of water may generate at around Y=144 in the Underground World. Digging further down will lead to a bedrock layer. Players need to constantly mine tunnels nearby to try and find gaps in this bedrock layer to proceed downward.

In non-Creative modes, players cannot use mechanics to break bedrock. If an illegal bedrock breaking event is detected, all nearby players will be forcibly killed, and the area will be restored.

The lowest bedrock layer in the Underground World is sparsely covered with large lava lakes. Only a portal lit above such lava can teleport the player to the Nether. However, not all lava lakes have suitable space above them to build a portal.

New Furnace Changes

Clay, Obsidian, and Netherrack Furnaces have been added. Higher-tier furnaces have faster base smelting speeds.

Clay Furnace: Cannot smelt ores. Can only be lit by fuel blocks like wooden planks or charcoal. Cobblestone Furnace: Can smelt most ores. Can only be lit by Coal. Obsidian Furnace: Generates higher temperatures, can smelt Mithril ore. Can only be lit by Lava Buckets. Netherrack Furnace: Can smelt Adamantium ore. Can only be lit by Blaze Rods (highest fuel value).

New Mobs and Enhanced Mob Abilities

Added new mobs: Ghoul, Longdead, Invisible Stalker, Black Pudding (Slime).

Wither Skeletons and Blazes are immune to damage from non-enchanted weapons.

Ghouls inflict Slowness on hit and drastically reduce the player's mouse sensitivity, making turning around very difficult.

Longdead spawn only underground. They initially wear armor and have high armor points. They have two variants: Melee Longdead deal very high damage, while Ranged Longdead shoot arrows more frequently.

Invisible Stalkers spawn only underground. They are mostly invisible and nearly silent. Their attacks inflict Blindness. The F3+B hitbox display does not work on them.

Zombies can see players through blocks like dirt. They can break blocks to reach and attack you. Zombies holding tools have enhanced block-breaking capabilities.

Zombies actively attack animals and will pick up items like meat, consuming half of the meat stack.

Endermen will inspect the player's inventory and actively attack players holding Ender Pearls.

If the recorded number of player deaths becomes too high (>30), Endermen become permanently hostile.

Save/Load (SL) Penalty and Respawning Mechanics

Every time the player enters the world, 1 health point is forcibly deducted, and short effects like Slowness, Weakness, and Blindness are applied.

On the first death, the player respawns at the spawn point, retaining all experience levels and health.

If player level is greater than 5 but less than 35 upon death, the player loses all experience above level 1, but keeps all items and respawns at the spawn point.

If player level is 35 or higher upon death, the player loses all experience above level 35 (e.g., a level 100 player loses 65 levels, respawning at level 35), but keeps all items and respawns at the spawn point.

Each time the player dies, the Ender Dragon's base armor increases by 1 point.

New Achievements

They provide a flowchart and instructions on how to survive in this dangerous new world.

New Enchantments

Reaching: Obtained from the enchantment table. Can be applied to Buckets. When selected, it provides a longer block interaction range. Filling the bucket with water does not remove the enchantment.

Speed: Obtained from the enchantment table. Can only be applied to Leather Boots. Provides a speed boost.

Anvil Changes

The base break chance for Anvils is reduced.

Repairing tools on an Anvil no longer consumes experience levels, but the level requirement must still be met.

The "Too Expensive!" limit (level 39) has been removed from Anvils.

Overworld Moon Phases

The first day of the game is a Blue Moon. No hostile mobs spawn during this night.

During a Full Moon or Blood Moon, players cannot sleep.

During a New Moon, the strength of all mobs is suppressed.

Every 32 in-game days is a Blood Moon. The day will always be a thunderstorm, and being exposed outside makes players very susceptible to lightning strikes. The weather clears at night as the Blood Moon rises. During the Blood Moon night, all mobs gain a Strength effect (dealing very high damage) and have a greatly increased tracking range. Mobs also spawn forcefully near the player.

The Full Moon preceding a Blood Moon is a Yellow Moon. Random tick speed is increased, meaning crop growth is faster.

Every 128 in-game days is a Blue Moon (excluding the first day). Random tick speed is increased, and animals also spawn nearby.
