Welcome to the first official release of Manhunt!

This release brings a fully automated Speedrunner vs. Hunter minigame experience to modern Paper servers, including matchmaking, arena generation, safe spawning, mid-game events, animated UI, and automatic cleanup.

🎮 Matchmaking

  • Added Solo Queue for automatic public matchmaking.

  • Games require at least 2 players to start.

🌍 Arena Management

  • Added integration with My_Worlds for arena world handling.
  • Arenas can be automatically generated, loaded, managed, unloaded, and deleted.
  • Added smart arena reset logic.
  • After a game ends, Manhunt waits for all players to leave the arena world before unloading it.
  • The plugin checks for up to 60 seconds before deleting the arena folder to help prevent file lock issues.

🧭 Spawning System

  • Added safe Speedrunner spawn detection.
  • The spawn system scans downward to find real solid ground.
  • Leaves and logs are ignored when searching for safe spawn points.
  • Spawn locations require at least 2 blocks of empty air above the player.
  • Added protection against unsafe spawns in water, lava, trees, caves, or suffocation spots.
  • Added circular Hunter spawning around the Speedrunner.
  • Hunters spawn in a 1.5-block radius circle and face inward.
  • Added pre-game Hunter freeze.
  • Hunters can look around but cannot move until the Speedrunner punches a Hunter to begin the game.

⚡ Mid-Game Events

  • Added Airdrops.

    • Supply crates spawn periodically during matches.
    • Airdrops are announced in chat and title screens.
    • Includes visual lightning, thunder sounds, and a hologram above the chest.
    • The hologram disappears when the chest is opened or broken.
  • Added Catch-Up System.

    • Hunters who fall too far behind can receive temporary Speed and Strength buffs.
  • Added Reveal Fireworks.

    • Fireworks periodically launch from the Speedrunner’s location to prevent endless hiding.

🖥️ UI & Menus

  • Added custom Create Manhunt Nether Star join item.
  • The join item is given when players enter the server.
  • The item is automatically removed when players enter a queue or active game.
  • Added redesigned Creation and Role Selection menus.
  • Menus use:
    • MiniMessage formatting
    • Gray glass pane backgrounds
    • Dark gray titles
    • Custom Base64 player heads

📊 Animated Scoreboard

  • Added global lobby scoreboard.

  • Lobby scoreboard displays:

    • Online players
    • Player ping
    • Server TPS
  • Added animated MANHUNT scoreboard title.

  • The title uses a smooth letter-by-letter yellow blinking animation.

  • Added in-game scoreboard mode.

  • In-game scoreboard displays:

    • Alive Runners
    • Alive Hunters
    • Player ping
    • Server TPS

The scoreboard avoids revealing sensitive player information during active matches.


☠️ Death Messages

  • Added custom death message system.
  • Vanilla death messages are intercepted for cleaner chat.
  • Added configurable funny death messages for environmental deaths.
  • Added special roast messages when a Speedrunner kills a Hunter.
  • Added 15-second AFK handling after Speedrunner death.
  • If the Speedrunner dies and does not press respawn within 15 seconds, they are kicked for AFK before the arena resets.
