SirDark's Lucidity
A resource pack heavily influenced by a few other resource packs that have not been updated in many years.
It seems as though in years past, there were a multitude more full-on resource packs being made and shared. Nowadays, when I look for a resource pack that suits my fancy what I am instead met with are hundreds of one off pieces of content that change one or two things and just a few full on resource pack projects (few especially in 16x). Those small one off projects are fine on their own, but I enjoy the days when I could appreciate all the world and builds around me in various total texture conversions, and I have a particular taste that the default Minecraft art does not quite satisfy.
Lucidity is a sort of art study in texture building and derivative texture integration. My own personal plunge into figuring out why my favorite packs of yore were the way they were and how to achieve those visual effects for my own ends.
Lucidity is HEAVILY informed by two resource packs that I used to enjoy the most. Both of these packs created a style that I found unique and intriguing meanwhile not adhering to basic "rules" of pixel art, even in the 16x format. One has not been updated in almost a decade and the other in over a decade I believe. If you can guess them, then I suppose we are alike in some ways.
Lucidity intends to make a style that is not always gritty, not always smooth, and uses color in strange and experimental ways. Some textures make sense in the context of distance, repetition and angled projection but look chaotic in upclose isolation, almost like pointillism. An emphasis on derivative textures and palette shifts will persist through the pack to give a more concise sense of style. Everything is a work in progress and subject to change.
