Lives

Everyone starts with 5 lives and can hold at most 10. Every death costs one. Hit zero and you are out of the server until somebody brings you back.

None of this touches the sin system. You keep your sin, your weakness and your cooldowns the whole way down.

What "out" means is up to you:

out-of-lives.action	What happens at zero lives
BAN	Permanently banned. Only a revive gets them back.
TEMP_BAN	Banned for ban-duration-hours. When the ban runs out they return with the revive amount of lives, so their next death does not instantly ban them again.
SPECTATOR	No ban at all. They stay on the server locked in spectator mode until revived.

Revives

The Revive Beacon is craftable. Right-click it and a menu opens with the head of every player who is out of lives, including the ones who are banned and offline. Click a head and they come back with 3 lives.

The beacon is only spent when somebody is actually revived. Closing the menu costs you nothing.

Sin levels

A sin now starts at level 1: passive and active only. The ultimate is locked until the sin is awakened to level 2 with a crafted Sin Awakening.

A locked ultimate costs nothing. The ability is refused before the cooldown starts, so nobody burns a 3 minute cooldown finding out.

This is enforced through the Sins SMP addon API, not by editing the base plugin. Turn off require-level-2-for-ultimate and every ultimate works from level 1 again.

Extra Life

Right-click to gain one life, up to the maximum. Refuses to be wasted if you are already at the cap.

Sin Awakening

Right-click to take your sin from level 1 to level 2 and unlock your ultimate.

All three shapes and every ingredient are set in config.yml. A letter that has no ingredient behind it disables that recipe and says so in the console instead of failing quietly.

Items are tagged in their persistent data, so renaming one in an anvil does not break it, and a normal beacon never behaves like a Revive Beacon.

/life works as an alias. Offline and banned players can be named in any of these - the plugin remembers them without going out to Mojang.

Configuration

config.yml covers the starting, maximum, per-death and revive amounts, which punishment applies at zero lives, whether ultimates need level 2, all three recipes, and every message.

One setting worth a look: sin-level.reset-on-sin-change drops a player back to level 1 whenever their sin changes. Turn it on and a Sinner's Heart reroll costs a Sin Awakening too, which makes rerolling a real decision instead of a free spin.

Lives live in plugins/SinsSMPExpansion/lives.json, sin levels in levels.json.

Requirements

Sins SMP 3.0.0 or newer. The addon will not load without it.
