ReallyVanish

A lightweight vanish plugin that makes the server, other players, and most plugins believe you left. Pop out of existence, fly around in spectator, and keep using commands.

Features

• Fake leave and join messages. Vanishing broadcasts the vanilla "left the game" message. Unvanishing broadcasts "joined the game".
• Spectator-style roaming. You switch to spectator mode so you can fly through blocks. Your previous gamemode is restored when you reappear.
• Safe reappear. You are moved to open ground, so you never come back inside a wall or take fall damage.
• Hidden from players. You disappear from the world and the tab list, and players who join later can't see you either.
• Hidden from the server list. Removed from the player sample and the online count.
• Hidden from /list. Vanilla /list and /minecraft:list leave you out.
• Hidden from commands. Targeting your name with /msg, /tp and similar returns "No player was found". Your name is stripped from tab completion.
• Seen as offline by other plugins. Bukkit.getOnlinePlayers() excludes vanished players, so plugins that loop over online players treat you as gone.
• Invisible command. Players without permission get the normal unknown-command message, and /vanish never appears in their tab completion.
• Commands still work. You can run commands while vanished. Chat is blocked so you don't give yourself away.
• Clean quit. Disconnecting while vanished sends no quit message and restores your gamemode.

Compatibility

• Minecraft 1.21.x, tested on 1.21.11
• Paper, Purpur (Paper build), Spigot, Bukkit (Spigot/Bukkit build)

• No dependencies and no config file

Known limits

• Plugins that look you up by name, such as Bukkit.getPlayer(name), can still find you.
• Join and quit events are not faked, so Discord bridges and playtime trackers won't be notified. This avoids breaking permission plugins that clean up data on quit.
• Players with reallyvanish.see see you everywhere, including in other plugins.
• The Spigot/Bukkit build uses plain English join and leave messages, and may not be able to adjust the server-list player count on every server build.
• Vanish state is not saved across restarts or disconnects.

Installation

Drop the jar for your server software into plugins/ and restart.
