PsychoTerror 1.3.0 — Full Immersion Update
This update transforms PsychoTerror into a fully immersive psychological horror system. The visible Insanity BossBar has been completely removed, making all effects subtle, unexpected and purely behavior-driven.
Players no longer know when they are “getting worse”—they only feel it.
🧠 Core Changes
- Removed the Insanity BossBar for a more immersive and unpredictable experience.
- All insanity progression is now fully internal and invisible to players.
- Rebalanced insanity thresholds to rely entirely on psychological cues.
- Peaceful players remain completely unaffected and experience normal gameplay.
🎧 Audio & Atmosphere
- Improved timing pacing: long periods of silence followed by sudden tension spikes.
- Added deeper cave ambience, Warden heartbeat, and distant pulse effects.
- Removed all melodic or non-threatening sounds from earlier versions.
- Sound events now scale intensity based on hidden insanity level.
👻 Ghost System Enhancements
- Rewritten ghost apparition logic for side-ghosts and front-ghosts.
- Ghosts now appear faster, darker, and with improved SMOKE particle effects.
- Fixed rare cases where ghost entities stayed longer than intended.
- Reduced repetition: ghosts spawn less often but are far more disturbing.
🌑 Blackout & Visual Distortion
- Blackout events have been redesigned for higher psychological impact.
- Combined thunder burst + heartbeat + blindness + nausea for brief hallucination moments.
- Front-facing ghost apparition during blackout is now more aggressive and visible.
- Personal storms no longer rely on the BossBar and trigger purely on hidden levels.
🐾 Behavior-Based Insanity
- Killing mobs increases hidden insanity based on moral weight:
- Passive animals → moderate insanity
- Baby animals → high insanity
- Villagers & baby villagers → extreme insanity
- Insanity decays slowly when the player stops being violent.
⚙️ Performance & Stability
- Cleaned up event logic for better long-term performance.
- Fixed all particle compatibility issues (now uses modern SMOKE).
- Improved cooldown system for every psychological event.
- Much more stable than the previous build.
🧩 Summary PsychoTerror 1.3.0 removes the visible insanity UI and turns the entire experience into pure psychological horror. Only violent players feel the consequences. Peaceful players will never know anything is happening.
This version focuses on rare, powerful, atmospheric scares that keep players constantly questioning what is real.
