FastMinecartsCombined is a lightweight and configurable minecart speed plugin for Paper 26.2.

Configure minecart speeds based on the block underneath the rail and choose between two different movement modes.

FastMinecartsCombined gives you the choice between Minecraft's native Minecart Improvements physics and the original FastMinecarts movement system.

🚂 Minecart Improvements Mode

Enable Minecart Improvements mode in config.yml:

minecarts_improvements: true

In this mode, Minecraft's native Minecart Improvements system controls the minecart movement and physics.

FastMinecartsCombined only sets the minecart's maximum speed based on the block underneath the rail. It does not apply custom velocity or custom corner handling.

Minecraft remains responsible for:

• Acceleration
• Deceleration
• Rail following
• Cornering
• Minecart movement

Because Minecraft controls the movement, this mode also works with empty minecarts, including chest and hopper minecarts.

Important: The Minecraft Minecart Improvements feature must be enabled for the world when using this mode.

⚡ Original Mode

Enable the original FastMinecarts behaviour with:

minecarts_improvements: false

In this mode:

• Only non-empty minecarts with a Player passenger are affected.
• The plugin directly controls the minecart velocity.
• The configured speed is based on the block underneath the rail.
• Speed is reduced to 70% on corners.
• The configured speed is also applied as the minecart's maximum speed.

⚙️ Block-Based Speed Configuration

Different speeds can be configured for different blocks underneath the rail.

Example:

minecarts_improvements: true

default-speed: 8.0
max-speed: 1000.0

blocks:
  GOLD_BLOCK: 80.0
  IRON_BLOCK: 40.0
  OAK_PLANKS: 20.0

All speed values are configured in blocks per second.

Examples:

• 8.0 = 8 blocks/second
• 20.0 = 20 blocks/second
• 80.0 = 80 blocks/second
• 1000.0 = 1000 blocks/second

The maximum configurable speed is 1000 blocks/second.

If a block does not have a specific speed configured, default-speed is used.

🖥️ In-Game Configuration GUI

Use /mcspeed to open the minecart speed configuration GUI.

The GUI allows you to select blocks and adjust their configured speed.

• Left click: increase speed
• Right click: decrease speed

Changes are saved automatically to config.yml.

🔄 Configuration Reload

After manually changing config.yml, use /fmcreload to reload the configuration without restarting the server.

Both permissions default to OP.
