# ClickToSeeNames Hides every nametag on the server. Want to know who you are looking at? Walk up and right click them. Their name pops up in your action bar, or as a title if you prefer. That is the whole idea. No names floating over heads, nothing visible through walls. Towns, events and RP feel very different when people actually have to walk up to each other. Requires Paper 1.18.2 or newer. Works on Folia. ## How it works Every nametag is hidden with a vanilla scoreboard team, so there are no packets, no client mods and nothing for players to install. If TAB is installed, the plugin talks to its API instead. TAB 4, 5 and 6 all work. Right clicking a player reveals their name only to you, and only if your rules allow it: distance, line of sight, empty hand, sneaking, cooldown, whatever you set in the config. ## Features - Global nametag hiding through a scoreboard team, or through the TAB API when TAB is present - Name reveal on right click, shown in the action bar or as a title - Full MiniMessage support for the name format: gradients, HEX, bold, anything - Personal colors for players: 16 vanilla colors, custom HEX, two color gradients - Settings GUI with a live preview (/ctsn gui) - PlaceholderAPI placeholders: %ctsn_color%, %ctsn_formatted_name%, %ctsn_hidden%, %ctsn_mode% - English and Russian messages, per player, with optional client locale detection - Interaction rules: max distance, line of sight, empty hand, sneaking, cooldowns - Disabled worlds list - Click sound with configurable volume and pitch, players can turn it off for themselves - Player choices are saved and survive restarts - Update checker and bStats metrics, both optional ## Commands ``` /ctsn gui open the settings menu /ctsn color personal name color /ctsn color custom #RRGGBB any HEX color /ctsn lang switch message language /ctsn mode where revealed names show up /ctsn bold bold personal colors /ctsn reload reload configs ``` ## Permissions ``` ctsn.gui open the settings menu (default: true) ctsn.color pick a color (default: true) ctsn.color. one specific color ctsn.color.* all colors (default: true) ctsn.gradient color gradients (default: op) ctsn.hex custom HEX colors (default: op) ctsn.lang switch language (default: true) ctsn.admin reload, mode, bold (default: op) ctsn.bypass this player's nametag stays visible (default: op) ctsn.cooldown.bypass no reveal cooldown (default: op) ``` ## Example configuration The action bar format. %player% is replaced with the name of the player you clicked, and any MiniMessage tag works in there: ```yaml actionbar-format: 'You looked at: %player%' ``` The reveal can also show up as a title instead of the action bar: ```yaml display-mode: TITLE title-times: fade-in-ticks: 5 stay-ticks: 35 fade-out-ticks: 10 ```
