Zima's Vanilla+ (Steam Deck Optimized)

Fixed some issues with configuration files. This should improve your experience. You may need to create a new instance to get the updated configuration files.

Changes

• Distant Horizons: Fixed heavy CPU usage.
• Shoulder Surfing Reloaded:
  • Player model is now hidden at higher distances, and when looking up at sharp angles.
  • FOV is now independent from first person mode.
  • Shoulder Surfing now replaces default third person mode, which allows for controller users to switch using the radial menu offered by Controlify.
• Full screen mode is now enabled by default.
• Accessibility onboarding is now skipped on first launch.

Modpack is now based on Fabulously Optimized! ✨

Some mods from previous versions did not make the cut since they are not supported on 1.21.8 at this time, but the experience is still the same.

What's Changed

• Modpack is now based on Fabulously Optimized.
• Super Duper Vanilla is now the new default shaderpack.
• MakeUp Ultra Fast is now the new backup shaderpack.
• Switched to JourneyMap from Xaero's Minimap.
• macOS now has pixel doubling enabled by default (no more melting laptop).
• Controlify's enhanced Steam Deck driver is disabled by default to mitigate a bug.

This update brings changes in the distribution of the modpack. In this release and all future releases, only Sodium and other performance-based mods will have their configuration files reset. All other configuration files will not be touched, and players will not have to reconfigure their settings.

Additionally, we are now making use of packwiz to build and maintain the modpack. This was a critical step for development as it allows us to maintain multiple versions of the modpack at once, including legacy and future versions of Minecraft + different modloaders.

This is the first release built with packwiz, marking the availability of the configuration and build scripts for review.

The NeoForge build will not be updated until packwiz fixes how it pulls NeoForge versions. You can subscribe to this issue and this pull request for updates.
