FroggyCraft

This modpack provides a vanilla+ experience that adds new biomes, new and overhauled mobs, powerful tools, quality-of-life improvements, under-the-hood fixes, performance enhancements, and so much more. Oh and I almost forgot, the pack has a whole bunch of mods and other content related to frogs! I like frogs, and I hope you do too :]

If you have an older or lower power PC that struggles with demanding mods like Create or you want nothing more than frogs and performance optimizations, you might prefer the FroggyCraft Lite modpack – all the frog-related content from FroggyCraft with none of the extras!

Frog-Related Stuff

• Bucket of Frog (mod): lets you carry frogs in buckets just like axolotls and other aquatics. Warning: this mod is only compatible with the three vanilla variants of frogs, modded frogs from More Frogs 2 will revert to a vanilla variant if placed in a bucket.
• Frog Legs (mod): adds new block variants for froglights and froglight end rods. Also adds a bunch of new food drops, but that's not important, don't look into it. Remember, frogs are friends not food!
• Holdable Frogs (mod): lets you pick up frogs and use than as tools – their tongues can grab stuff from far away and drag them towards you.
• More Frogs 2 (mod): this mod adds new frog variants that will spawn and can be breed only in certain places (the nether, the end, the deep dark, above y=250), they have their own drops, with one unique drop, the Light at the End block.
• Ribbits (mod): adds villager-like mobs called Ribbits to the came, frog people with their own villages, trades, special items, and fun behaviors.
• SpaceFrog's Forever Young Tadpoles (datapack): showing a tadpole a slime ball causes a quantum-superposition/magic allows the tadpole to clone itself into an ageless tadpole – keep your tadpole friends in their cute tadpole form forever!
• SpaceFrog's Hungry Hungry Frogs (datapack): frogs will eat hostile mobs. Adds a rare frog variant, The ÜberFrog, an immortal, insatiable frog that can one-shot kill any hostile mob, never taking any damage - makes for a great guard-frog for your base.
• SpaceFrog's Recolored Frogs (resource pack): replaces the skin of the warm variant frogs with something a bit less sickly and pale. So if those pale/whitish frogs ever weirded you out, worry not - they're now a beautiful shade of bright, froggy green.
• Villager Frog House (mod): now swamp villagers finally have a home, they get to live in a giant frog! Well, more of a frog-shaped communal building, still pretty cool.
• And tons more frog-related customizations and easter eggs implemented through special datapacks and KubeJS scripts.

Fun & Immersive Game Expansions

• Better End and Better Nether (mods): overhauls The End and The Nether adding new biomes, mobs, loot, and structures. The End has never looked better, and The Nether has never been more fun and challenging.
• Bosses of Mass Destruction (mod): adds 4 new bosses to the game, each with unique and challenging battle mechanics and drop loot that can be combined to make incredibly powerful tools like anti-gravity devices and a staff that prevents hostile mobs from spawning in a 64-block radius.
• Create (mods): brings the industrial revolution to Minecraft! There's way too much to describe, check out the mod's wiki. Several addon mods are also included like Create Steam 'n' Rails, Create Copycats+, Create Slice & Dice, and Create Enchantment Industry.
• Emotecraft (mod): adds player emotes like in Bedrock edition and allows you to make your own custom emotes.
• Explorations (mod): adds a variety of vanilla-style structures to the world like temples with great loot and other structures that make your world feel lived in.
• Immersive Paintings (mod): adds customizable paintings to your world; use any image and map paints of any size the vanilla paintings come in.
• More Axolotl Variants (mod): adds more axolotl variants - the more variants of amphibians, the better!
• Mystic's Biomes (mod): adds brand new biomes to world generation - Strawberry Fields, Lavender Meadow, Bamboo Blossom Forest, Autumnal Grove, Lush Oasis, Lagoon, and Tropics.
• Nyctophobia (mod): adds new spooky biomes to world generation - Haunted Forest, Haunted Lakes, Eroded Haunted Forest, Ancient Dead Coral Reef, and Deep Dark Forest.
• YUNG's mods: Better Desert Temples, Better Dungeons, Better Jungle Temples, Better Mineshafts, Better Nether Fortresses, Better Ocean Monuments, Better Strongholds, Better Witch Huts, Bridges, Cave Biomes, and YUNG's Extras.

Quality-of-Life Improvements

• Beacon Overhaul Reloaded (mod): upgrades beacons to have additional effect options including the unique effects nourishment and long reach. Beacon pyramids can be built taller and with more type of blocks to extend beacon effects over larger areas.
• Carry On (mod): pick up most of the friendly mobs and transport them anywhere you like. Also lets you pick up chests and barrels and move them without needing to empty them.
• Custom Villager Trades (mod): makes wandering traders useful! They'll sell you mini-blocks thanks to Vanilla Tweaks, but this mod also adds lots of useful and powerful, but rare, trades including an easy source for wind charges and some of the loot from Bosses of Mass Destruction.
• Inmis (mod): adds backpacks to the game, adding dozens of new player inventory slots in a banked configuration.
• Music Control (mod): gives you full control of Minecraft music - reduce or eliminate delays between background music tracks and skip over tracks.
• Reinforced Shulker Boxes (mod): adds new craftable shulker boxes that can store up to 108 stacks of items.
• Simple Voice Chat (mod): does exactly what is says and adds voice chat to Minecraft.
• Smarter Farmers (mod): farmers will replant the crops they farm, no more gardens turning into fields of wheat!
• Vanilla Tweaks (datapacks): a selection of the available Vanilla Tweaks datapacks that adds new tools and game rules, makes quality of life improvements, and adds new recipes – name tags are now craftable! For more options, see: vanillatweaks.net/picker/datapacks
• Vertical Slabs Compat (mod): adds vertical slabs to the game, enough said!
• Wraith Waystones (mod): adds craftable waystones let you instantly teleport to other waystones in the world. It's like having “/tp” but implemented in a very survival vanilla way.
• Xaero's World Map and Xaero's Minimap (mods): world map and mini map HUD that shows what areas you've explored in the world, set waypoints, and display players and mobs.
• You're in Grave Danger (mod): adds functional grave stones to the game. When a player dies, a grave stone is left in their place that contains their entire inventory – you never have to worry about your gear despawning before you can get back to it.

Visual Enhancments

• 3D Skin Layers (mod): changes the rendering of the top layer of player skins to be 3D and more consistent with the way mobs render in the game.
• Better Clouds (mod): adds amazing looking, customizable clouds that still look Minecrafty.
• Bobby (mod): cashes chunks that have rendered in you work and displays them without loading them, making you able to see far beyond your render distance and makes you world feel so much bigger with minimal performance penalties.
• Dramatic S✨ (resource pack): makes the skies HD with realistic clouds and lighting.
• Fresh Animations (resource pack): beings new life and expressiveness to vanilla mobs reminiscent to Element Animations' Minecraft shorts.
• Iris Shaders (mod): a popular shader pack loader, included are three preinstalled shader options: Miniature Shader, Nostalgia Shader, and Rethinking Voxels
• Lamb Dynamic Lights (mod): adds dynamic lighting and emissive lighting from items held by the player like Optifine.

Technical & Performance Improvements

• BetterF3 (mod): massively improves the F3 screen with customizable fields and color-coding.
• Chunky (mod): allows you to pre-generate chunks over large definable areas in specific patterns (square, circular, oval, etc.) improving server performance and rendering.
• CreateBetterFps (mod): improves performance around Create mod components that typically trash frame rates like water wheels.
• Dynamic FPS (mod): improves client system perfornace by reducing resource usage while Minecraft is in the background, idle, or on battery.
• KubeJS (mod): a powerful Javascript-based scripting mod that enables users and server admins to implement customizations that go far beyond the capabilities of datapacks.
• Ksyxis (mod): speed up world loading and reduce resources utilization by removing the requirement to keep spawn chunks loaded at all times.
• Madgique's Tickrate Changer (mod): lets you change the world tickrate to custom values similar to the 1.20.3+ command '/tick'.
• Memory Leak Fix (mod): fixes random memory leaks for both the client and server and includes other performance improvements.
• MiniHUD (mod): adds a 'mini F3' screen and various overlays like light level, spawn chunks, slime chunks, and custom shapes like de-spawn spheres.
• Roughly Enough Items (REI) (mod): similar to JEI, view and search the full registry of blocks and items in the game, view recipes, item tags, etc.
• Sodium (mod): Makes massive improvements to performance and give you more control of your video settings.
• Tweakeroo (mod): adds an enormous amount of new tools for power users including auto-clickers and freecam.

Guide for Installation on Servers

The following is a step-by-step guide on how to install FroggyCraft on a server hosted by Modrinth, but the general points should be applicable to other hosting services:

1. Join the FroggyCraft Discord and download the PATCHED_MODS_FOR_SERVERS.zip file from the pinned comment in the "troubleshooting" chat. Unzip the files to your PC.
2. Log into your account on the Modrinth website. Start a new server or reset an old server and select the installation type "Modpack base".
3. In the modpack search bar, enter "FroggyCraft", select the modpack, and set the properties you want for the server (e.g., game mode, difficulty, etc.).
4. Under the "Options" tab you'll see a button labeled "Platform" – click this button and select the option to "Unlink Modpack".
5. Under the "Content" tab you'll find the mods and datapacks associated with FroggyCraft. Disable all of the mods with the yellow warning triangle indicating they're client-side only mods with the exception of the mod "Athena" – do not disable this mod. In case you're not installing the modpack on a Modrinth hosted server, a complete list of mods to disable is found in the PATCHED_MODS_FOR_SERVERS.zip file.
   ^{Note: You'll see that some mods have updates ready, but do not update any mods or it will likely break compatibility between the various mods of FroggyCraft.}
6. There are three mods that need to be DELETED and replaced with patched versions – Bucket of Frog, Re:Deco, and Structurify. Make sure you delete these mods, don't just disable them, the original files need to be absent from the server before the patched files are uploaded.
7. Click the "Upload files" button and upload the patched .jar files Bucket of Frog, Re:Deco, and Structurify found in the folder on your PC where you unzipped the PATCHED_MODS_FOR_SERVERS.zip file. The patched file names end in "FROGGYCRAFT_SERVER.jar" so as to avoid confusion with their unpatched versions.
   ^{Note: Do not replace these mods with their patched version on your local client – FroggyCraft will run perfectly fine on your PC without any modifications and will be able to log into any server running the same version of FroggyCraft so long as the server's mods have been patched.}
8. You're all done setting up the server. Start the server and try logging into it from your PC. You might get an error when first logging in, but just try again, and it should work (this seems to be a sporadic issue related to Modrinth servers). For trouble shooting, join the Discord and ask for help in the troubleshooting chat.

Known Bugs

• Items in the hotbar might be invisible upon first login; open your backpack once to resolve this.
• Aquarium from Additional Fishing does not render vanilla fish/aquatics; they still exist and can be retrieved with a bucket but can’t be seen in the aquarium.
• If you rename an ÜberFrog and place it in a bucket, it will lose its special ÜberFrog traits and become a normal frog. This only affects the ÜberFrog when placed in a bucket; otherwise, renaming an ÜberFrog will not remove its special traits.
• The mods Bucket of Frog, Re:Deco, and Structurify have bugs that crash servers. To run FroggyCraft on a server, you'll need to use patched versions of these mods – links and instructions are found above in the "Guide for Installation on Modrinth Servers" section.

Future Plans

Plans for FroggyCraft v1.2 or later:

• Pick Your Poison (mod): adds tiny poison dart frogs to the world, and you can lick them and get cool effects! For legal purposes: do not lick poison dart frogs in game or IRL.
• SpaceFrog's FrogCoin Currency (datapack): pay for villager trades with FrogCoin instead of lousy old emeralds. Your server economy can also run on FrogCoin - FrogCoin for everyone!
• The modpack won't be updating to a version of Minecraft newer than 1.20.1 until the fabric version of Create Mod updates. Until then, I'll be adding mods that backport features of newer versions of Minecraft when possible.
