Primitive smelter with chimneys is able to produce enough heat to melt cassiterite and copper crushed ore

Alloy smeltery

With even bigger chimney, you are able to make bronze and even finally create iron bloom

Bronze anvil

Using hammer on iron bloom, you are finally rewarded by your first iron ingot
