this is an alternative to waypoints in minimap mods, without the minimap part. you can also consider this a remake of MCG.

why

I personally believe that full minimap mods add too many extra features or get in the player's way in general.

support for older than 1.21.x?

MCG supports pretty much every version before 1.21.x.
