Too many mods to be Vanilla+ yet too few to be your average generic and enormous modpack.

🔶 Features

  • Combat and Difficulty Overhauls
  • Progression Fixes
  • Rebalanced Transportation
  • Sound and Atmosphere Improvements
  • Worldgen Overhaul
  • Create, Addons and Farmer's Delight
  • Tons of QoL Changes
  • ...and more!

Being a spiritual successor of my previous, long forgotten modpack I made for a server of friends - The Real New World was remade from ground up for NeoForge and had preserved the charm from its predecessor, along with some great additions and improvements Hundreds of hours went into carefully picking each mod and fine-tuning each config to result in the most balanced and fun experience!

🔷 Combat and Difficulty Overhauls

My goal here was to spice up the combat by introducing different fighting playstyles, so you can not only just use a Sword or an Axe, but also try the new available weapons! On top of that, there are also some adjustments to the overall difficulty - read more below!

Better Combat

Thanks to Better Combat mod with a few hand-picked addons and further tweaking to the combat range and configs combat the most notable changes are:

  • You can dual-wield most weapons in the game
  • Press X to feint (can only be used within a very short range after pressing the attack key)
  • You can run and attack without the speed penalty (modpack change!)
New Weapons

Basic Weapons brings a wide array of new, fitting weapons to the game, further balanced and improved to not just be buffier versions of the classic options, but to be a playstyle options, rather than the most damage option. Among the new weapons there are:

Glaive

Perfect choice for The Reaper cosplayers. Swing left and right, up and down with a big reach at the cost of longer cooldowns between hits. Comes at the cost of not being able to use items in your off-hand while it's in the Main Hand.

Glaive in Action

Spear

Long range weapon that allows dealing with opponents without even being scratched while doing it. Comes at the cost of lower damage and slower attack speed.

Spear in Action

Hammer

Does slightly more damage than the Glaive at the cost of being slower and having shorter range. Can also be dual wielded!

Hammer in Action

In the newer patch the hammer has been changed:

  • Hammer is now two handed
  • Hammer now only has a swing-up attack

Quarterstaff

Having a decent range, attack speed, this weapon suffers from lower damage and not being able to use items in the off-hand while using it.

Quarterstaff in Action

Club

Being Slightly tougher than the sword comes at the cost of a slower attack speed and not being able to use items in the off-hand.

Club in Action

Dagger

Arm yourself with a pair of those and stab your opponents at rabid rates. Has the fastest attack speed at the cost of having the shortest attack range and slightly lower damage than a regular sword.

Daggers in Action

Knives

While primarily used for chopping veggies at the kitchen, you can now throw them and use in both hands, just like the Daggers at the cost of slightly lower damage and attack speed that of the Daggers.

Knives in Action

  • Also enchantable with Multishot and Loyalty!
Potions, Fireballs and Dragon Charges

Ever felt like all potions aside Water Breathing, Night Vision and maybe Strength were useless? Ever wondered why do Fireballs even exist in the game? Think again!

  • Potions can now be stacked up to 16 per stack
  • Added one second cooldown to throwing potions
  • Tipped Arrows can now be made using Cauldrons
  • Fireballs can now be thrown
  • Dragon Charges follow the same logic, and now can also be crafted and be JUST AS DEADLY as they are during the Ender Dragon fight!
Wither Buff

Wither on Java Edition is more of a punching bag than anything, while on Bedrock Edition Wither is an opponent sometimes even tougher than the Ender Dragon, so thanks to BE Style Wither you may face the challenge!

  • Wither has double the amount of health
  • Wither shoots blue wither skills more
  • Wither will explode once more and start summoning wither skeletons once its health is less than the half
  • Wither now explodes when it dies
Shields

Vanilla has a very annoying 5-tick delay between you pulling out the shield and actually being able to activate it; Responsive Shields addresses that - unfair deaths will be much less frequent now!

Dungeon Difficulty

Dungeon Difficulty will make every dungeon you visit a challenge, the later in the game it is, the harder, no matter what gear you wear or how well you enchant it! But trust me - the reward is worth it.

The Third Person View

Shoulder Surfing Reloaded is now offset to make third person combat more enjoyable. Press Z to swap shoulders.

Shoulder Surfing in Action

Tiny Skeletons

Tiny Skeletons adds, well... baby skeletons, among which there are:

  • Regular baby skeletons are armed with both a bow and a wooden swords
  • Baby Wither Skeletons have a chance of carrying a Wither Skull in their hands
  • Stray Baby Skeletons will carry snow balls to throw at you

🔷 Progression Fixes

Over the years, Minecraft's progression has started to become more and more broken, with the final nail in the coffin being the Village & Pillage, which made it possible to obtain nearly all of the rarest enchantments in the game within the first hour of play, not to mention the Totem Farms that made therefore mentioned Totem of Undying a thing everyone just carries in their pocket!

The added adjustments may seem boring; I thought so too until I went playtesting and found out how fun actually playing this game and exploring the world for rare loot no longer available through Villagers can get!

Your New Journey to The End

End Remastered disables regular Eyes of Ender from working in Ender Portals. Explore the world and find 12 (out of 16 available) unique Eyes of Ender to get to The End!

The End Portal

Villager Trade Rebalance

Villager Trade Rebalance experiment is now ON by default, the most notable changes are the following:

  • Mending is now only obtainable through the Swamp Librarian Villager.
  • Unique weapon enchantments (Chanelling, Multishot, etc) are no longer sold through Villagers.
  • Fixed Cured Villager discount stacking exploit.
  • Wandering Traders now offer somewhat more fair deals.
  • Rare Enchantment Books now spawn more often in the structures throughout the world.
More Trade Rebalances!

VillagerTradeFix makes it impossible to "re-roll" villager trades, significinantly extending the timespan for you to build a Villager hub with all sweet deals at your disposal!

Village Spawnrates

Villages are now 5 times more rare!

Totem Changes

🔷 Rebalanced Transportation

All the Transportation Methods in this game are made obsolete by two things: Elytras and Ice Boat Highways. In the meantime, The Horses and The Good Ol' Minecarts are left to rot without anyone using them, so check out what's changed transportation-wise with this modpack!

Ice Boats

Nerfed Ice Boats! No more boats traveling at 50 blocks per second! Go and build a railroad! Or, if you wish - explore other means of quick transportation!

Buffed Minecarts

Thanks to Fast Minecart, minecarts can now reach twice their previous speed, making them a pretty viable transportation method!

Umazing Horses

Horseman, along with Kaffee's Dual Ride and AstikorCarts eliminates most of the annoyances of owning a horse in Minecraft, so from now on:

  • Horses can swim
  • Horses can fit two people
  • Horses can fit in boats
  • Horses won't get stuck in leaves
  • Horses can be used to transport goods and animals, along with an ability to quickly till fields using wagons from AstikorCarts.
  • Tamed horses won't wander away and can be called to player using Copper Horns
  • Horse Feed (Farmer's Delight) can make a tamed horse run 40% faster

🔷 Worldgen Overhaul

The Vanilla Worldgen is pretty decent, but it can certainly be made better!

Tectonic, Geophilic and Others

A simple, yet delightful combo of Tectonic and Geophilic, further tweaked to feature the most pleasant and vast terrain imaginable make your time around here much more enjoyable.

Also Backed up by YUNG's remade structure mods:

An example of the type of terrain you can expect in-game you can see right in the main menu's panorama screen ;)

🔷 Sound and Atmosphere Improvements

Vanilla Minecraft has always struck me as too quiet. Except for occasional background music the only sounds around you are the ones you and the other mobs make, and in this modpack I tried being close to Vanilla vibe-wise, but also introduce more things along the way!

Euphonium

Euphonium is much more lightweight than the other ambient sound mods, adding everything you've come to expect from a mod like that.

See the preview by the mod author in the video below!

Sounds

Sounds adds plenty of subtle audio effects to the game, primarily to the UI.

See the official preview by the mod author in the video below!

Subtle Effects

Subtle Effects expands the visual side of Minecraft by adding a ton of subtle particle effects and more that you'll surely notice yourself ;)

See the official preview by the mod author in the video below!

Immersive Winds

Immersive Winds will put some wind in your ears, but that's just the side-effect. Now nearly all the particles in-game, including the ones added by Subtle Effects will obey the wind; that also includes the smoke emitted from Campfires. Now your chimney will have much more vibe to it!

Presence Footsteps

People often undersetimate the importance of the footstep sounds in the overall vibe and atmosphere. Presence Footsteps expands on the footstep sounds.

See the official preview by the mod author in the video below!

Distant Horizons

Distant Horizons needs no introdction, the only balanced option to have an insane amounts of Render Distance and not have your PC burn.

There is a brief manual in the Notes section on how to make this mod work without having to worry about stuttering and your CPU choking up.

Camera Adjustments

While the base Camera Overhaul mod would make most people dizzy on the 5th minute of play, in this modpack it was stripped down to only have:

  • An expressed effect of suddenly rotating 90°
  • Having player's screen shake during explosions
  • Other subtle camera effects
Enchanced Visuals Mod

Base Enchanced Visuals adds a ton of effects to the game that don't necessarily fit it, so as with therefore mentioned Camera Overhaul, this mod was also stripped down to feature only:

  • Screen blur during an explosion
    • Followed by the ear ringing
  • Audible heartbeat sound alog with screen tearing when the health is low
  • Screen desaturation when the hunger level is low

🔷 Create, Addons and Farmer's Delight

And now for the elephants in the room - Create and Farmer's Delight will surely keep you busy building factories, food farms and of course, Trains!

Create

Needs no introduction whatsoever. If you somehow never heard of it check it out in the video below.

Farmer's Delight

Farmer's Delight is a mod that expands greatly on the cooking mechanic of Minecraft, most notable ones are:

  • Dozens of New Meals
  • New Crops:
    • Tomatoes
    • Cabbages
    • Rice
    • Onions
  • New Cooking Appliances:
    • Stove
    • Skillet (can also be used in combat!)
    • Cooking Pot
  • ...and more!
Create Addons

To further improve the base Create Mod and improve compatibility between Create and Farmer's Delight, a few addons were added:

- Create Steam 'n' Rails (NeoForge)

  • Expands upon the second most major factor of Create - Railways.

- Create Central Kitchen

  • Adds a lot of intergration between Farmer's Delight and Create, read more on the mod's page!

  • Adds more capabilities for bulk procession.

- Create: Pattern Schematics

  • Adds a new schematic type to Create to make building pattern-like structures more convenient.

  • Import / Export your books as .txt
  • Quick and Easy formatting options for any written text
  • Dye Books with any color
    • Proper colors along with a stored book tooltip are also displayed on the Chiseled Bookshelves!

🔶 Notes

🔷 Regarding Distant Horizons

Please keep in mind that Distant Horizons is still in Beta and WILL have some performance issues regardless of how well you tweak it.

By Default, Distant Horizons' world generator is disabled to reduce the CPU strain and load the LODs and the world gradually. Enabling therefore mentioned world generator will result in poor client performance, poor server performance or both.

Below you can see the instuctions generating LODs around you the most efficient way possible.

  1. (*) Find a safe place to AFK in; ideailly in the light-dominant area indoors so the Phantoms and Monsters can't disturb you
  2. Press ESC for the Pause Menu
  3. Open the mod menu by pressing Mods button
  4. Go to the top-left corner and search for Distant Horizons
  5. Press the Config button
  6. Crank the CPU Load option to be 5. I Paid For The Whole CPU
  7. Change Enable Distant Generation setting to be True
  8. (Optional) Change Show Generation Progress option from Disabled to Overlay to see the distant generation progress logged on your screen to know when it's finished
  9. AFK until the Overlay Text from Distant Horizons' Distant Generator vanishes
  10. Follow steps from 2 to 5 once more
  11. (**) Change CPU Load option from 5. I Paid For The Whole CPU to anything from 1. Minimal Impact to 3. Balanced depending on how beefy your PC is.
  12. Change "Enable Distant Generation" setting to be False
  13. (Optional) if you followed step 8, set Show Generation Progress setting to "False"
  14. Done!
(*) If you're in Singleplayer, you can just wait through the process in the Pause Menu
(**) Keep in mind, lower CPU Load options will drastically lower the speed of LODs showing up when loading into the world.

🔷 RAM

Regarding RAM, it is mandatory for you to allocate at least 4 GB of RAM or more for this modpack; it's a good call to increase it up to 6 GB or 8 GB client-side. Stress tests have shown that server-side only needs about 4 GB of RAM to run mostly smoothly. If you experience server lags with complex contraptions, feel free to increase it.

🔷 Other Notes

  • Balancing is always ongoing!
  • The Recipe Book now acts as a toogle for the Recipe Viewer. You can also use CTRL+O shortcut to open it.
  • Due to how large this modpack grew, it will take a lot of time to fully flesh it out, so expect bugs, inconsistencies and other issues throughout your journey!
  • This modpack takes a good care of the welcoming experience, so all the settings you'd need are already there.
  • For the intended experience it is not recommended to tinker with configs of any the mods except therefore mentioned Distant Horizons, many have shown to cause crashes when changed in-game and will probably ruin your experience.
  • The main issue performance-wise is the server tickrate. It will be pretty horrible when you create a new world and start exploring the nearby area, but as you explore it and generate new chunks, it will eventually wane.
  • Before reporting issues on GitHub's Issue Tracker make sure your issue isn't listed in the Known Issues section of the latest modpack changelog.
