SmartStash is a powerful, intuitive inventory management plugin for Minecraft 1.21+ that eliminates the tedious "cherry-picking" of items. It introduces a seamless, UI-free way to sort, deposit, and loot containers using intelligent logic and simple mouse interactions.

Functionality

Managing a large base in Minecraft usually involves hundreds of repetitive shift-clicks. SmartStash solves this by turning the empty space around the chest interface into a functional control panel.

Instead of manually dragging stacks, you can use Push/Pull mechanics to empty or fill a chest instantly. The Quick Stack (or "Dupe" deposit) feature is a game-changer for organization: if a chest already contains Cobblestone, clicking the trigger will suck every piece of Cobblestone out of your inventory and into that chest, ignoring everything else.

The Smart Sorting system goes beyond basic organization. It merges partial stacks first to save space, then groups items by gameplay utility. Your swords and bows will always sit at the top, followed by your armor, tools, and food, creating a professional and clean storage layout every time.

Configuration & Binds

SmartStash is designed to be "plug-and-play," but offers deep customization for power users.

• Sort Strategy: Choose between SMART_CATEGORICAL, CREATIVE_MENU, ALPHABETICAL, or QUANTITY_FIRST.
• Binds: Map actions to LEFT, RIGHT, MIDDLE, or SHIFT combinations.
• Default Controls:
• Left-Click Outside: Pull all items to inventory.
• Right-Click Outside: Push all items to chest.
• Shift + Left-Click (Empty Slot): Sort the container.
• Shift + Right-Click (Empty Slot): Quick Stack matching items.

Commands & Permissions

• /smartstash reload — Reloads the configuration file (smartstash.reload)

Installation

SmartStash is a lightweight, server-side plugin for Paper 1.21+. No client-side mods or resource packs are required. Simply drop the JAR into your plugins folder and restart your server. A plugins/SmartStash/config.yml file will be created automatically.
