Skillheim
Passive Character Growth for Minecraft
Bring the satisfying mastery system of Valheim to Minecraft. Run faster, jump higher, and hit harder—simply by doing it.
🌲 What is Skillheim?
Skillheim adds a new layer of character growth to your survival experience without touching the vanilla XP or Enchanting systems. You keep your green XP orbs for enchanting; Skillheim handles your physical stats.
It operates on a simple philosophy inspired by Valheim: You get better at what you do.
- Want to run faster? Start sprinting.
- Want to deal more damage with a spear? Start stabbing.
- Want to lose that progress? Die.
This mod fits naturally into vanilla gameplay, rewarding you for the time you spend surviving, fighting, and exploring.
Skills & Progression
Skillheim tracks your actions and automatically levels up specific stats. All bonuses are passive and stack with your existing gear.
Movement & Agility
- Run: Sprinting gradually increases your base movement speed.
- Jump: Leaping increases your jump height.
- Swim: Spending time in water increases your swim speed.
- Sneak: Crouching improves your stealth capabilities.
Combat & Gathering
- Fists: Punch mobs to increase your unarmed damage (starts with a 10x XP multiplier for quick early gains!).
- Woodcutting & Mining: Chop trees and break ores to level up your gathering speed.
- Blocking: Successfully shielding attacks improves your damage reduction.
Weapon Mastery
Skillheim now supports vanilla weapons and modded weapons (like Simply Swords) out of the box.
- Standard Weapons: Swords, Axes, and Bows.
- Light Weapons: Fast, agile weapons (Daggers, Rapiers, etc).
- Heavy Weapons: Massive, slow-hitting tools (Claymores, Greataxes).
- Specialized: Clubs and Spears.
Consequences
Just like its inspiration, Skillheim makes death meaningful.
- The Death Tax: Dying isn't free. You lose 5% of your levels (configurable) upon death.
- Feedback: Upon respawning, you will see a chat message detailing exactly which skills suffered amnesia (e.g., "You feel your memories fade... Run -1, Heavy Weapons -1").
- Level Cap: All skills are capped at Level 100, with XP requirements scaling exponentially as you progress.
Interface
Skillheim features a freshly redesigned UI that is clean, intuitive, and beautiful.
- Inventory Integration: A button sits neatly in your inventory. Just look for the "Skillheim!" tooltip.
- The Grid System: Gone is the scrolling list. The new UI features a comprehensive 4x4 Grid, allowing you to see every single skill, its level, and its progress bar at a glance.
- Instant Feedback: Receive "Level Up" advancements immediately when you improve a skill.
- Keybind: Press
K(default) to open the skills menu directly.
