Size Potions
Size Potions adds a new item to your server, the Potion of Normalization. This potion temporarily resets any player or entity to scale 1.0, restoring normal size and reach for a limited time.
This plugin was built for an SMP where custom player sizes caused balance issues. Smaller players had strong advantages. Larger players struggled with reach, builds, and mobility. Size Potions solves this by giving everyone access to temporary normalization.
When the effect is active:
- The entity’s vanilla scale attribute is set to 1.0
- Health adjusts dynamically based on size
- Small players have fewer hearts
- Large players have more hearts Health scaling is based on logarithmic scale differences, which keeps changes smooth instead of extreme.
Recipes
- Size Potion 3 minutes Thick Potion + Golden Carrot in a crafting table
- Extended 8 minutes Size Potion + Redstone Dust
- Splash Potion Size Potion any duration + Gunpowder

Configuration
You have full control over scaling limits and health balance:
- base_health Base health for scale 1.0
- health_step Controls how dramatic health differences are per ln scale unit
- min_health Absolute minimum health safety limit
- min_scale and max_scale Defines the allowed size range on your server
The plugin modifies the vanilla scale attribute and uses the Luck effect internally for tracking.
- Includes a simple command: /playersize
to quickly set a player’s scale within the allowed range
