Scythes Vanilla

Scythes Vanilla adds a new family of weapons designed to feel like a natural part of Minecraft while offering a different combat style from traditional swords and axes.

The mod currently adds 7 different scythes, exclusive enchantments, special combat mechanics, world loot and advancements to discover.

Scythes

There are currently 7 scythe variants, each based on a different vanilla material:

• Wooden Scythe
• Stone Scythe
• Copper Scythe
• Iron Scythe
• Golden Scythe
• Diamond Scythe
• Netherite Scythe

All scythes are designed around sweeping attacks, making them especially useful when fighting groups of enemies.

Every scythe has:

• 1.2 Attack Speed
• +1 Entity Interaction Range
• Sweeping attacks similar to swords
• Sweeping damage that increases depending on the material

Exclusive Enchantments

Scythes have access to four exclusive enchantments, each providing a different combat ability.

Soul Devourer I–III

Soul Devourer allows the player to recover health by killing enemies with a scythe.

• Level I: Restores 1 heart
• Level II: Restores 2 hearts
• Level III: Restores 3 hearts

Soul Devourer can be obtained from the Enchanting Table and as rare loot in Ancient Cities.

Grim Harvest I–III

Grim Harvest gives the player a chance to receive a temporary combat boost after killing an enemy.

The effect provides:

• Speed
• Damage Resistance

The higher the enchantment level, the greater the chance and duration of the effect.

Level	Chance	Duration
I	40%	6 seconds
II	70%	9 seconds
III	100%	12 seconds

Grim Harvest can be obtained from the Enchanting Table.

Eclipse I–III

Eclipse is a combat enchantment specialized for fighting undead enemies at night or in complete darkness.

Each level increases the damage dealt to undead enemies:

• Level I: +2 damage
• Level II: +4 damage
• Level III: +6 damage

Eclipse can be obtained from the Enchanting Table.

Reaper's Step I–III

Reaper's Step gives the scythe a special movement ability.

Right-clicking with a scythe allows the player to dash forward, making it useful for quickly approaching enemies or repositioning during combat.

Using the ability:

• Consumes 1 durability
• Higher levels deal more damage
• Higher levels have longer cooldowns

Reaper's Step can be found in Trial Chamber Vaults.

Loot

Several scythes and enchantments can be discovered as loot while exploring the world.

• Iron Scythe — Overworld chests
• Golden Scythe — Nether chests
• Soul Devourer III — Ancient City chests
• Reaper's Step — Trial Chamber Vaults

This gives players additional reasons to explore different structures and dimensions.
