An opaque glass sphere with decorative patterns and a wooden core that, once “attached” to someone, cannot remain alone.

The Lonely Ball mod adds five new items (SCP, documentation, label and more…) and one structure to the game. The mod is heavily inspired by SCP-104 from the SCP Foundation Universe.

SCP-104 | The Lonely Ball
SCP-104 is an opaque glass sphere with decorative patterns and a wooden core that, once “attached” to someone, cannot remain alone.
Anyone who comes into physical contact with SCP-104 will undergo an "imprinting". From that moment on, the sphere will become linked to the subject.
SCP-104 will imprint only on the first person who touches it. The only ways to break the link with SCP-104 are death or entering a "near-death" state.
To enter the "near-death" state, the linked subject must be the target of any instance of SCP-104 and be reduced to exactly half a heart of health. At that moment, the subject’s vision will turn black for 10 seconds, and they will be unable to move or perform any actions, as they will be unconscious.
After 10 seconds, the subject will recover, and the bond with the sphere will be broken.
If the linked subject moves more than 9 meters (9 blocks) away from the sphere and remains at a distance greater than 9 meters for more than 5 Minecraft minutes (83 ticks / approximately 4 real-life seconds), the sphere will disappear from its current location and reappear within a maximum distance of 2 meters (2 blocks) from the subject.
If the sphere is in the inventory of someone who is not the linked subject, and the subject remains more than 9 meters (9 blocks) away for over 5 Minecraft minutes, the sphere will disappear from the holder’s inventory and reappear within 2 meters (2 blocks) of the linked subject.
_If the linked subject is holding the sphere in their hand, it will be considered within the **9-meter range** and therefore will not teleport._
If the sphere is destroyed, it will not drop as an item. However, if it has already undergone imprinting, it will reappear within the usual time frame within 2 meters (2 blocks) of the linked subject.
If you attempt to drop SCP-104 while it is in your inventory, one of the following may occur:
- It may shatter, since throwing a glass sphere onto the ground is not the smartest idea.
- If it has already imprinted on the subject, it will remain bound to them and cannot be dropped.
If the linked subject is within 9 meters (9 blocks) of SCP-104, the sphere will remain in place. However, once every in-game hour, it will slowly move 1 foot __closer to the subjec__t until it eventually makes contact and remains there.
(The sphere moves 1 foot every hour [approximately 1,000 ticks / 50 real-life seconds]. After 3 hours [3,000 ticks / 2 minutes and 30 seconds real time] it will have moved 1 meter [1 block].
The teleportation time (when the sphere is more than 9 meters away) and the movement interval (when within 9 meters) can be modified using the gamerule:
SCP104RealLifeTime
_If the gamerule is set to false, the timings remain as previously described:
5 in-game minutes (approximately 83 ticks / 4 real-life seconds) before teleporting when farther than 9 meters.
3 in-game hours (approximately 3,000 ticks / 2 minutes and 30 seconds real time) to move 1 block when within 9 meters.
If the gamerule is set to true, the timings are converted to real-life time:
- 5 real-life minutes before teleporting when farther than 9 meters.
- 3 real-life hours to move 1 block when within 9 meters.
The Lonely Ball is compatible with every mod.

Reacher
The Reacher is a metal arm with a portable claw, operated using a trigger.
The Reacher can be used to pick up SCP-104 (Shift + Right-Click on it) without making physical contact, preventing it from imprinting on the user.
This allows SCP-104 to be safely moved around.
The Reacher is not craftable and can only be found in SCP-104 containment chambers.

Reacher with SCP-104
The Reacher with SCP-104 is the Reacher when it is holding SCP-104.
- If the instance of SCP-104 held by the Reacher is imprinted on the player holding it, it will not teleport, as it is within the 9-meter range.
- If the SCP-104 instance is imprinted on a subject who is far away, it will disappear from the Reacher and reappear within 2 meters of that subject after the appropriate time.
Attempting to drop the Reacher with SCP-104 will break SCP-104, returning the Reacher to its empty state.
While holding the Reacher with SCP-104, it is impossible to remove it from the main hand, open the inventory, or change its hotbar slot. This is to prevent accidental contact with SCP-104, as the only safe way to handle it is to keep it in hand.
Right-clicking on the ground will place SCP-104, returning the Reacher to its empty state.

SCP-104 can only be found inside the SCP-104 Containment Chamber/Cell.
The structure spawns in any Overworld biome at surface level and is rare.
SCP-104 Document & SCP-104 Label
The SCP-104 documentation can be found inside the SCP-104 Containment Chamber together with The Lonely Ball and the Reacher.
The documents are readable, while the label provides information about the SCP’s classification and risk level.
