🗺️ Scenario Configuration 🗺️

In sandbox at the top right there is now an option to configure a set of scenario roles (see the attached screenshot) A scenario role is a set of units/buildings that can be chosen to be played with at the start of a scenario map. You can configure which role a particular unit or building is for at the bottom left in sandbox mode.

When you're ready for your map to be played, publish the map using the book & quill button at the top right. This will:

  • Kick you out of sandbox mode
  • Sets /gamerule scenarioMode true
  • Enables buttons for the player to pick a scenario role to play as

At this point, your map is ready to be shared with others to play!

📜 New commands 📜

All of these are now runnable from command blocks:

  • /rtsapi-summon <ownerName> <entity> <pos> <nbt>
  • /rtsapi-add-research <researchName> <playerName>
  • /rtsapi-remove-research <researchName> <playerName>
  • /rtsapi-victory <playerName> <reason>
  • /rtsapi-defeat <playerName> <reason>
  • /rtsapi-set-unit-owner <ownerName> <newOwnerName> <selectFrom> <selectTo>
  • This was an existing command that now takes an optional second ownerName parameter (if provided, it will only affects units owned by the first name)
  • /rtsapi-set-unit-enemy-search <ownerName> <from> <to> <SearchBehaviour>
  • This is a way to make units automatically search out for enemies to fight, valid values for SearchBehaviour are:
    • NEAREST_ENEMY_UNIT
    • NEAREST_ENEMY_WORKER
    • NEAREST_ENEMY_BUILDING
    • NONE
  • /rtsapi-unit-action <ownerName> <selectFrom> <selectTo> <action> <targetFrom> <targetTo> This allows you to perform most unit commands such as moving, attacking, casting, etc. For the full list of valid actions, see this link https://github.com/SoLegendary/reignofnether/blob/1.20.1-dev/src/main/java/com/solegendary/reignofnether/unit/UnitAction.java

🛠️ Bugfixes 🛠️

  • Spawners no longer spawn units when there are nearby player-owned units
  • Fixed an issue where custom buildings sometimes did not complete all of their blocks
  • Fixed neutral/hostile units not showing where they are moving to in sandbox mode
  • Fixed not being able to control non-RoN units in sandbox or when the wouldyoukindly cheat was enabled
  • Fixed units not being considered garrisoned after reloading a save

⚙️ Quality of Life ⚙️

  • Added a confirm step to the de-register custom building button
  • In sandbox mode, pressing F3 will show info for the moused-over block
  • /rts-reset and /rts-reset-hard can now only be run with permission level 2 or higher (ie. command blocks or higher)
  • The default for /gamerule allowedHeroes is now 2
  • Added /gamerule lockAlliances true/false
  • While enabled, alliances can only be made/broken with players who have not yet joined the match

⚖️ Balancing ⚖️

  • The Enchanter can now enchant allied units of other factions:
    • Skeletons and Headhunters get power (+1 damage)
    • Brutes get sharpness (+1 damage)
    • Any unit wearing a chestplate (except Marauders and Hoglins)
    • Grunts and Zombie villagers can be enchanted with Efficiency
  • Chainmail chestplates at the superior blacksmith cost reduced from 60 ore to 40 ore
  • Cost of Hoglin Rider research increased from (350 food, 300 wood, 120s) to (450 food, 350 wood, 180s)
  • Wildfire attack speed reduced from 0.75 to 0.6

There are now THREE brand new heroes based on Minecraft Dungeons designs with the help of @20-sided. Train these at the altar, and unlock your second hero by building a castle-tier building.

👻 The Wretched Wraith (Monster Hero) 👻

A chilling spectre to summon forth snow and ice into the path of enemies. The wraith's abilities create stackable snow which reduces enemy move, attack speed and armour (into negatives!). Freeze your enemies solid with a channelled blizzard in the midst of battle.

📚 The Enchanter (Villager Hero) 📚

A wise illager dedicated to the art of enchanting. The enchanter grants a unique new enchantment to every single military unit and worker and can enhance them in combat with a powerful aura.

❤️‍🔥 The Wildfire (Piglin Hero) ❤️‍🔥

A greater blaze of untamed flames with the power to stoke the fire in the souls of enemies and allies alike. The Wildfire is all about pure fire damage, its abilities creating magma, fire blocks and intense single-target flames. Transform it all into soulfire in a blaze of glory using its ultimate.

🐷 Marauder (Piglin Unit) 🐷

The marauder is a new early-game tanky piglin unit available at the bastion. Its special passive allows it to do bonus damage, stun and knockback on every 3rd hit. Upgrade this to have it hit up to three targets at once!

💀 Bogged (Monster Unit) 💀

The bogged has been backported into 1.20.1 and is a poisonous variant of the skeleton. It deals half the on-hit damage of a regular skeleton, but adds 6 poison damage over 6s, and prioritises unpoisoned targets.

🔨 Blacksmith Armour 🔨

Villagers now get blacksmith armour upgrades for any military unit, leather with a regular blacksmith, or chainmail with an upgraded one. This can also be enchanted with the enchanter.

Other changes since 1.3.0-beta-9:

  • Fixed a crash from putting a headhunter or evoker egg in a spawner
  • Players can no longer build on barrier blocks
  • Custom buildings no longer provide night range before being completed
  • Fixed a possible crash from winning with a beacon
  • You can no longer stack additional spawns at a unit spawner by pulling existing mobs away
  • Fixed the royal guard's abilities not causing any knockback

  • Improved slime and magma cube pathfinding

⚖️ Balance ⚖️

  • The Wildfire's Molten Bomb no longer does any damage on impact
  • The Royal Guard's mace slam mana cost increased from 40 to 60, but cooldown decreased from 30s to 20s
  • The Royal Guard's taunting cry mana cost increased from 60 to 75, but cooldown decreased from 50s to 40s
  • The Royal Guard's battle rage mana gain reduced from (0.4, 0.6, 0.8) to (0.3, 0.4, 0.5)

  • Campfires no longer do excessive damage
  • Creative players out of RTS cam are no longer locked into flying and noclip
  • Fixed the blizzard sound effect still continuing sometimes after the spell ends
  • Building a bridge overlapping resource blocks no longer makes those resources ungatherable
  • Libraries no longer try to autocast Vigor enchantments on Evokers that already have it
  • Warped Nylium now counts as nether terrain for piglins

Magic resistance now also reduces fire tick damage

💀 Monsters

  • Wretched Wraith bonus armour during blizzard increased from 30% to 50%
  • Wretched Wraith Frostblink mana cost reduced from 40 to 30, and cooldown reduced from (20,16,12) to (20,15,10)
  • The Wretched Wraith can no longer cause or receive knockback
  • Spider resource cost reduced from (90 food, 25 wood, 25 ore) to (80 food, 20 wood, 20 ore)
  • Spiders now glide smoothly up 1-block high steps without having to jump or climb

🐷 Piglins

  • Piglin Merchant TNT Throw range increased from 12 to 14
  • Marauder Cleaving Flail damage to secondary targets reduced from 7 to 5 and stun from 1.5s to 1s
  • Piglin units lose their magma block immunity if they are actively on fire
  • Wildfire Molten Bomb no longer deals explosion damage (this was actually unintended)
  • Scorching gaze no longer causes 2x magma and fire block damage, but fire tick damage is raised to 3x
  • Blaze firewalls can now create fire blocks over snow
  • Fire Resistance now only affects Wither Skeletons and has been moved to the wither shrine
  • Fire Resistance cost reduced from (200 wood, 200 ore, 100s) to (125 wood, 125 ore, 60s)
  • Wither Skeletons now prioritise enemies that already have wither on them when autoattacking
  • Wither Skeletons now have 50% knockback resistance

🧑‍🌾 Villagers

  • Witch Water Potions extinguish radius increased from 1 block to 2 blocks
  • Raised water potion cooldown from 5s to 8s
  • Witch magic resistance reduced from 85% to 60%
  • Iron Golem HP reduced from 140 to 120, but ranged armour increased from 20% to 40%

  • Heroes can no longer pick up weapons and armour
  • Zombies summoned by necromancers no longer drop their weapons on death
  • Fixed the player defeated announcement text
  • Fixed grunts and villagers dealing too much damage to other units
  • Changing /gamerule groundYLevel no longer moves players that aren't in RTS cam (this was killing survival players!)
    • This also happened whenever another player logged in
  • Destroying a farm now destroys all of its crop blocks

  • The Royal Guard and Enchanter now have the collision size of regular illagers (visual size unchanged)

⚖️ Balance ⚖️

  • All damage dealt to huntable animals by military units is halved

  • Fixed grunts and villagers dealing too much damage to animals
  • Fixed the hoglin tooltip damage incorrectly reading 50% bonus damage to buildings (should be 100%)
  • Workers no longer stand on other building foundations while working on adjacent buildings
    • This sometimes got them stuck on the top of a building
