Prison Pearl Redux
A lightweight plugin that allows you to inprison players, make them work for you, and more!
PrisonPearl Redux gives your players the tools to handle conflicts themselves. Instead of relying on server admins to manage griefers or enemy factions, players can physically capture and imprison each other. It is built specifically for hardcore, factions, and civilization-building communities where actions need real consequences.
How Capturing Works If you defeat a player while keeping an Ender Pearl in your hotbar, you capture them. That standard Ender Pearl transforms into a Prison Pearl with the defeated player's name bound to it.
Once pearled, the captured player is banished to a separate prison dimension (usually The End). While they are stuck there, their gameplay is heavily restricted—they cannot use Ender Pearls, fight in regular PvP, or break reinforced blocks.
The main catch is that a prisoner is only trapped as long as that physical pearl is safe. If the pearl is dropped in lava, gets blown up by TNT, or simply despawns on the ground, the player is instantly freed.
Fueling the Pearls Keeping someone locked up takes active effort and resources. Pearls must be stored in a container, like a chest or dispenser, and fueled with an item called Essence.
Players have to work to gather this fuel by fighting mobs or processing certain items. You can also combine smaller amounts of essence into larger tiers so the fuel lasts longer. If a pearl's container ever runs out of Essence, the pearl breaks, and the captive is released back into the normal world.
Vaults and Rescue Missions Because a pearl has to be stored somewhere in the physical world to be fueled, it creates organic, server-wide conflict. Prisoners can type /pplocate to find the exact coordinates of the chest holding their pearl. They can then share those coordinates with their allies, who can organize a rescue mission to track down the vault, break through the enemy's defenses, and destroy the pearl to bust them out.
Controlling Prisoners Whoever physically holds the pearl has direct control over the captive. You can summon the prisoner to your exact location in the Overworld if you want to negotiate with them or use them for labor.
Once summoned, the prisoner is tethered to the pearl. If they try to run away, they will start taking damage. You also have the power to instantly send them back to their cell, or kill them to send them back without their inventory.
Important Commands /pplocate - Shows prisoners the coordinates of their own pearl.
/ppbroadcast [player] - Automatically shares the pearl's location with trusted allies to help them plan a rescue.
/ppinfo [player] - Checks the status, fuel level, and location of a specific pearl.
/ppsummon [player] - Brings the captive to your current location in the Overworld.
/ppreturn [player] - Sends a summoned prisoner back to their cell with their items.
/ppfree [player] - Manually breaks the pearl, releasing the prisoner.
