This Minecraft data pack adds recipes for items normally obtained from monsters. It’s intended for players who prefer to play (mostly) in peaceful mode.

Recipes

• Blaze Rods

  • 3 gunpowder (see Gunpowder recipe below)
  • 1 gold ingot
  • 1 nether quartz
  • 1 bucket of lava

  Makes 4.

• Breeze Rods (Minecraft 1.21+ only)

  • 3 gunpowder (see Gunpowder recipe below)
  • 1 glass bottle
  • 1 nether quartz
  • 1 bucket of powdered snow

  Makes 4.

• Ender Pearl

  • 4 amethyst shards
  • 1 ghast tear (see Ghast Tears recipe below)

• Frog Lights

  • 1 slimeball (see Slimeball recipe below)
  • 1 magma block or shroomlight
  • 1 lime, pink, or yellow dye

  Makes 1 verdant, pearlescent, or ochre froglight corresponding to the dye used.

• Ghast Tears (since Minecraft 1.21.6)

  • 1 bucket of water
  • 1 dried ghast

  Makes 20 tears.

• Gunpowder

  • 1 charcoal
  • 1 egg
  • 1 flint
  • 6 sugar

  Makes 9 gunpowder.

• Heavy Core (since Minecraft 1.21)

  Cook an iron block in a blast furnace for 8 minutes 20 seconds, which is how long one lava bucket will burn. (Cannot be cooked in a normal furnace.)

• Nether Star

  Cook glowstone in a blast furnace for 16 minutes 40 seconds, which is how long two lava buckets will burn. (Cannot be cooked in a normal furnace.)

• Phantom Membrane

  • 1 leather
  • 7 feathers
  • 1 blue ice

• Prismarine Shard

  • 1 glowstone dust
  • 1 lapis lazuli
  • 1 quartz

• Resin Clump (since Minecraft 1.21.4)

  Cook a pale oak log in a smoker. Resin normally is generated by attacking a “creaking”, though it can also drop by mining a creaking heart; this makes it (slightly) easier to obtain than finding creaking hearts.

• Rotten Flesh

  • 1 raw meat (beef, chicken, mutton, pork chop, rabbit)
  • 1 poisonous potato

  Finally, a use for rotten potatoes! 😁

• Shulker Shell

  • 4 turtle helmets arranged in a diamond shape

  Makes 1

• Slimeball

  • 3 spider eyes (see Spider Eyes recipe below)
  • green dye

  Makes 1

• Spider Eyes

  • 1 raw meat (beef, chicken, mutton, pork chop, rabbit, … or rotten flesh)
  • 2 mushrooms (brown or red)

  The slimeball recipe above calls for spider eyes, which of course can’t be obtained in peaceful mode. If you want to be strictly peaceful, you can use this recipe which only requires farming non-hostile animals and fungi. Just add a couple of mushrooms to any slab of raw meat; makes 8 at a time.

• Wither Rose

  • 1 dead coral block
  • 1 rose bush
  • 1 sculk vein

  Makes 3

• Wither Skeleton Skull

  • 1 bone block
  • 1 block of coal
  • 2 wither roses (see Wither Rose recipe above)
