Shield Plus:

If you successfully parry a melee attack, the attacker receives a Stun effect.
Your next hit on the stunned attacker becomes a critical strike.

Spike Shield:

If you parry a melee attack, the attacker takes half the damage back.
Just holding the shield deals 1.5 hearts of damage to melee attackers.
Works only against melee attacks.

Slime Shield:

Parrying a melee hit knocks the attacker back 3 blocks.
Simply holding it knocks melee attackers back 1 block on contact.
Projectiles like arrows and tridents will bounce off this shield.

Absorbing Shield:

If you successfully parry a melee attack, the attacker will drop their weapon and become stunned for a short time.
This gives you an opportunity to counterattack while they are vulnerable.
When blocking projectiles (like arrows or tridents), they will either fall to the ground at your feet, or be added directly to your inventory.
