Neo Vitae
Spill blood for power. Altars that consume life, sigils that bend the world, custom demons in an endless dungeon, sentient armor that drinks souls, a shield that pays your damage in essentia. Datapack-driven from the ground up.

Meteor Ritual
- The Diamond and Nether meteors now also pull from the generative-ore pool, so any ore the material system flags
generativecan appear in them (previously only the Iron and Stone meteors did). - New Nether Star meteor: use a Nether Star as the catalyst for a meteor 30% larger than the Iron meteor, made of near-solid dense ore (diamond, emerald, ancient debris, gold, iron, redstone, lapis, and the pack's generative ores) with almost no filler, wrapped in a crying-obsidian crust.
Ritual of Harvest
- Working area now reaches 8 blocks above and below the Master Ritual Stone (still 11x11 wide), so stacked or sunken farms are gathered in one go.
- EV cost per harvested crop lowered from 20 to 5.
- Place a chest atop the Master Ritual Stone and harvested drops are funneled straight into it instead of dropping on the ground; without a chest it falls where it grew as before. This eliminates the item-entity spam a large farm used to create.
- When a chest is present and full, the ritual stops harvesting entirely instead of overflowing items into the world.
- The ritual no longer plays a looping ambient sound while running.
- Performance: positions that are air are now skipped before running harvest handlers, cutting the per-tick cost of the larger (now mostly-air) scan volume.
Demon Lantern
- New Demon Lantern block, forged in the Hellfire Forge.
- It suppresses passive (non-monster) spawns in a 16-block radius like the Blood Lantern, and also amplifies hostile spawning in an 8-block radius (and up to 4 blocks below it) every block that could support a mob gets its own spawn attempt, turning the area into a mob farm. Spawns ignore the light level, so the area does not need to be dark; difficulty, mob obstruction, and a nearby-monster cap are still respected. The viable spawn blocks are cached (solid/underground and open-air positions are skipped) and rescanned periodically for performance.
- It draws on the ambient spiritus around it: with no spiritus it runs roughly once every 5 seconds (every 100 ticks), accelerating as spiritus accumulates up to once per tick at 500 total spiritus (all aspects counted together). Each activation has a small chance to consume a single point of a random available aspect.
- It glows like a lantern but emits no actual light.
- Applying a redstone signal switches it off: while powered it stops amplifying spawns, stops drawing spiritus, and stops suppressing passive spawns.
- It is bound to a player and pays a configurable EV upkeep from that player's Soul Network (default 20 EV per second but configurable in the server config). Placing one binds it to whoever placed it (or keeps an existing binding if it was right-clicked to bind beforehand). It goes dormant if unbound or if the network can't pay.
Dungeon Keys
- The Mine Entrance Key (which opens the Foreman's chamber and the deeper mine-key doors) is now obtainable: forge it in the Hellfire Forge from a Tabula Animata, an Echo Shard, a Diamond, and a Simple Key (drains 128 spiritus, requires 512 minimum), or find one with a roughly 7% chance in a Spirit Cache.
- The Foreman now drops several Mine Keys on death instead of a Mine Entrance Key.
- Mine Keys can no longer be crafted in the Hellfire Forge; the Foreman is now their source.
Commands
/neovitae altarnow takes an optional tier number (for example:/neovitae altar 3) to build that tier of altar; with no argument it still builds the highest available tier. Tab-completion lists the available tiers, and an invalid tier reports which tiers exist.
Ritual Diviner
- Selecting the active ritual is now done through a UI instead of cycling. Right-click in the air with a Ritual Diviner to open a scrollable "Select a Ritual" list (only rituals the diviner can build are shown), and click one to set it. The list opens scrolled to your current selection. This replaces the old click/sneak-click-to-cycle behavior.
- Sneak + right-click in the air now cycles the build facing direction (previously right-click in air).
- Hovering a ritual in the selection list now shows a tooltip popout with a short lore description of the ritual plus its activation cost, upkeep, cycle time, and any activation-crystal requirement.
- Building on a Master Ritual Stone and the sneak-click hologram preview are unchanged.
Items
- Throwing Knife cooldown lowered from 2.5 seconds to 1 second.
Rituals
- The Meteor and Torment Nexus rituals now require an Awakened Activation Crystal instead of incorrectly requiring a Creative one.
Fixes
- The Vortex and Loyal Friends alchemy arrays now appear in JEI. They were missing their representative items, so JEI had nothing to index; both now have a proper item, model, name, and JEI entry.
- Searching "altar" (or "blood altar") in JEI now finds the Ara Vitae.
- The Tome of Peritia now has a crafting recipe again.
