Geodes can be found in both the overworld and the nether, with nether geodes containing unique loot. Overworld geodes generate below sea level, while nether geodes generate at any y level.

Alongside their vanilla drops, both kinds of geodes have a rare chance to drop a shard. Dream shards can be used to duplicate a given material. Molten shards can be used to transform more common ores into rarer materials.
