The Linguistic Barrier

Make chat immersive: communication is restricted by distance and by the dialects players have learned.

How it works

• Closer = clearer. Far away messages degrade into enchanting-table glyphs (Galactic alphabet vibe).
• Want to trade? Meet face to face instead of spying on global chat.

Dialects

Players can learn rare dialects by finding Dialect Tomes:

• Nether Speak: understand / communicate with players in the Nether
• Enderman Echo: understand / communicate with players in The End

Cross-dimension communication works when both players know the dialect.

Commands

• /lingbarrier dialects (shows what you know)
• /lingbarrier reload (admin)
• /lingbarrier givebook <dialect> [player] (admin)

Config

Everything is configurable:

• Clear / max chat distance
• Dialect books (name/lore) + drop chances + mob sources
