LingeringPlayerDrops
LingeringPlayerDrops is a Fabric Minecraft mod that prevents items that players drop (or that appear as a result of a player's death) from ever despawning. Configure with gamerules playerDropItemsLinger and playerDeathItemsLinger.

A manually dropped pickaxe and a dirt item
The pickaxe was thrown out manually, and the dirt item appeared as a result of breaking a grass block. Dirt has "Age" of 969 ticks currently, and it's constantly ticking up, and eventually is going to disappear. Pickaxe item will not disappear at all.
