AFTER 7.5 LONG HOURS OF DEVELOPMENT, I finally am giving you all configs. The most requested feature, for this mod.

Patches, Changes and Additions:

  • Added a "Common" Config with the name: "InsurgentsServerConfig.toml"
  • Added the ability to customize the Health of all entities
  • Added the ability to customize the Follow Range of all entities
  • Added the ability to customize the Movement Speed of all entities
  • Added the ability to change the Horizontal and Vertical Inaccuracy of all Weapons that the Insurgents use
  • Added the ability to change the base damage of all Weapons that the Insurgents use

Developer Notes:

  • This update has taken way to long to come out. The reason why is because I had to make a weird system to get configs to load on entities as you can't just directly give them a value, due to configs being loaded after entities in forge. So, when an entity is spawned in, they will then take the stats given from the config so if you see a mob that hasn't had any of its stats changed, it's because they need to be killed and respawned. I spent ALL DAY working on this and learning how configs work inside of Forge, so please use this for your modpack and have a blast! <3 - Nolan (S0lfur)

A Pretty Simple Balacing Patch based off Feedback <3

Patches, Changes and Additions:

  • MG Insurgents have a spawn weight of 0.75 (decreased from 1)
  • MG Insurgents have a Base Damage of 1.5 (decreased from 2)
  • MG Insurgents now have an Horizontal Inaccuracy of 0.06 (increased from 0.03)
  • MG Insurgents now have a Vertical Inaccuracy of 0.1 (increased from 0.05)
  • Sniper Insurgents now have a Vertical Inaccuracy of 0.005 (increased from 0)
  • The "Close Gunfire" sounds for MG Insurgents now play at a range of 32 blocks or less instead of 64
  • The "Close Gunfire" sounds for Sniper Insurgents now play at a range of 48 blocks or less instead of 64

Developer Notes:

  • Thank you for feedback on the Curseforge page and in the comments of the trailer! I love hearing feedback from people and changing the balancing of the mod to make sure it fits the needs of those who use it. I want to be able to make configs but I know it will be a lengthy process of changing a lot of variables so it will be a while before I even tap into that. FIRST (ACTUAL) CONTENT UPDATE

Patches, Changes and Additions:

  • Added MG Insurgent (Inaccurate but quick fire rate, and more damage than Insurgents)
  • Added Sniper Insurgent (100% Accuracy if the player is holding still, Large amount of damage, but slow fire rate. Damage will ignore a majority of what armor the player is wearing)
  • Tweaked AK Distant Fire sound (added a fade out to make it sound better at a distance as if it’s outdoors instead of in a room.)
  • Added New Impact Particles (For Sniper Insurgents Only)
  • Tweaked More Spawns (All insurgents spawn a little less often as there are more, but when they do spawn, it’s in groups of 2-5 for regular insurgents instead of 1-4.)

Bug Fixes:

  • N/A (There aren’t really any bugs that i’ve found)

Developer Notes:

  • Updates will be coming slower as I just have too much to do. But I love working on the mod and I'm open to really adding anything. It just takes time. Sorry for taking so long, but here are some extra mobs to fight against. Oh, and thanks to “OddlyDelta” for the new weapon models. I just didn’t have time to make them myself but thanks to him I found courage to continue working on this update! If there is one thing I want to work on next, it’s making the types of insurgents spawn in groups. For example, a normal insurgent spawns, and then different types being the snipers and MG’s around that insurgent. I also want to attempt to add more customization for insurgents through gamerules or configs! Yes I hear you. I know you want configs. Thank you for playing my mod. Enjoy! <3 - Nolan (S0lfur)

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed Insurgents and Suicide Insurgents not naturally spawning correctly. Spawn rates will be tuned if needed however they seem to spawn comfortably around the world as of now. Not to many but enough to not get overwhelmed in single player.

Developer Notes:

  • I will be working on some form of promotion for this version like the previous beta and alpha trailers. I will go more over what the mod actually is regarding what it adds as opposed to just including gameplay with no context.

The First Release Build!

Patches, Changes and Additions:

  • Improved Impact Particles (Added Smoke and Dust to add more intensity alongside the existing "Poof" particles.)
  • Remade Particle spawn Logic (Explosion particles and impact particles can now spawn at any distance, and are also client side now.)
  • Audio Overhaul (Different sounds will play for weapons and explosions based on distance)
  • Projectile Improvements (Bullets no longer drop and are more accurate.)
  • AI Attack Logic Changes (AI now fire in bursts as opposed to rapid firing)
  • Removed Firing Animation (To fix a Transition Bug of which caused the firing animation and death animation to play at the same time)
  • Removed Security (Out of scope for this project as of now.)
  • Removed Structures (Also out of scope. I am one person and I realized how much work a lot of this is to actually get working.)
  • Removed Radio

Bug Fixes:

  • Insurgent Death animations no longer merge with Firing animations making it look very awkward. (As the firing animations no longer exist.)
  • Fixed particles not spawning beyond minecraft's default distance (Thanks to the new particle spawn logic)
  • Fixed audio not playing beyond the default 16 block distance. (FINALLY... Thanks to the new Audio Overhaul!)
  • Projectiles no longer bounce off of the player when they are hit multiple times in a set time. (Bypassing minecraft's default "Hit Cooldown".)
  • Standing close to insurgents will no longer make their bullets bounce off the player and hit themselves

Developer Notes:

  • As of now, this is the most polished version of this mod that we have had. I have spent most of my time going through and generally polishing all of the bugs that have existed since alpha. I know I have had to remove a lot of features and this is mainly due to a couple of things. I am not a great builder so I decided to remove Structures. They take up too much of my time balancing the spawns and generally making them look "Decent". The reason for the removal of Security is now that I am handcoding a lot of the mod, I have to remake the security to also use the new audio systems, balance them, and remake the entire way that they fire at enemies because of the new way firing is handled (in bursts now). They are also generally not entirely fit in the mod right now due to there just not being enough in the mod for them to fill a role beyond shooting at the AI which the player already does. If I manage to get more people to work with so it's not a solo project, I will absolutely at these things back and even improve systems more! Thank you for sticking around all this time and playing my mod. It was intended for myself and I decided to share it out, and it gained more attraction than I thought!
