  • 2 Year Anniversary (Glowroot 2.0.0)
  • Removed tons of bloat, leftover assets and files throughout the mod file, reducing the file size.
  • Complete overhaul of the Glowroot Machine GUI, mainly fixing up all the textures, and including a new special #5 recipe.
  • Added Rooted Core, a new rare item. It has a 1/200 chance to drop from glowroot vines, or can be found in lootchests. It's mainly used to craft materials into other various forms, but can also be consumed for 3 minutes of the Lucidity effect, or be right clicked on rooted woodsets to turn them into their chrysoprase variants.
  • Glowroot Hybrid (Subject #5 ???) has been added to the creative menu with it's spawn egg.
  • Melted Chrysoprase is now survival obtainable, and can be used properly without issues. It can convert some blocks into their glowrooted/chrysoprase variants, like Runes and Pure Glowroot Stone.
  • All glowroot tools (sword, pickaxe, etc...) can now be right clicked to shoot out a small beam of light, that breaks blocks and does dazzling damage.
  • Chrysoprase Nexus, the projectile shot by Cannonprase, is now an obtainable and throw-able item.
  • Hermits can now drop Hermit Claws, a new item with fast attack speed and low damage.
  • Updated all loot tables to provide way more loot.
  • Heavily updated most of the mod's undone models, textures, etc... including vines!
  • Reworked and lowered the durability loss of Cannonprase and Jetpacks upon usage.
  • Reworked the Prism's raycasting when right clicking.
  • Changed the text of some advancements to be more understanding of how to obtain them.
  • Glowroot Engine and Glowroot Toolset recipes are now craftable via a crafting table, not just a Glowroot Machine.
  • Glowroot Vines can now drop either Pure Glowroot Leafs, (30/200) or a Rooted Core, (1/200.)
  • Modified tons of previous crafting recipes.
  • Updated some of the items/blocks in tags.
  • Fixed the spawning of the Glowroot Hermit, so you should see them spawning more often.
  • Modified mob drops.
  • Glowshroom Blocks can now be used in node's to provide a full crystal (node power of 15.) This also applies to Rooted Cores and Pure Glowroot.
  • Pure Glowroot Leafs can now be used to provide 3 node power.
  • Reduced the explosion damage of Chrysoprase Nexus.
  • Glowbangs now cause actual explosions and can break blocks, though weak.
  • Removed most unused blocks, items, and entities.
  • Fixed a few common bugs/errors, notably the Flashlight Block being obtainable.
  • Changed some of the particles.
  • Walking on some Glowrooted/Crystal blocks now makes glowing particles appear.
  • Completely changed the biome's ambient music. No more loud droning.
  • Fixed most of the mod's leftover inconsistencies.

  • One year and 1/2 anniversary of Glowroot!
  • Finally retextured Glowrooted Stone's top and side textures to look good.
  • Changed the ambient biome music to be MUCH QUIETER and also slowed down.
  • Any variant of glowroot flora (flowers/grass/plants/and even combined blocks,) that are broken inside of a glowroot cave and planted on a variant of glowroot stone, can eventually re-grow in the same place. There is a new gamerule, Regrowthchance, that determines the actual percent chance of the flora actually being replaced. It is naturally set to 100. Lower values = smaller chances of regrowing.
  • Edited the quadcopter's ai to re-target enemies quicker and also have a "warning signal" before attacking.
  • Increased quadcopter and glowroot golem spawning.
  • Changed tons of mining strengths of blocks (Chrysoprase crystal blocks are now slightly faster to mine, and Glowroot Stone blocks/some ores now only need a stone pickaxe to break, rather than iron for all.)
  • Fixed the glowroot golem's drill texture variant to match the new updated textures, along with the glowroot zombie.
  • Removed Melted Chrysoprase Buckets from the creative menu, as they are still WIP
  • Retextured a few left-over block/item textures.
  • Fixed particles when mining certain custom-model blocks.
  • Changed the advancement screen background
  • Changed a few recipes to be easier for progress.
  • Fixed a few issues/minor bugs

Glowroot 1.0.8.6: damn its been long since i updated the mod lmao; well here's all the content i've been kinda working on. sorry that it's lacking, as i've been working on a new mod project!

  • AS HIGHLY REQUESTED, LOWERED THE BIOME'S MUSIC DOWN BY 95%!!! ENJOY NO MORE DEATHENING AMBIENCE!!!
  • Some of the 6-month long texture work has been finally added into the game. Most textures are for new content yet to come, so stay tuned! Further retextures for even more current content will come in time.
  • Added Glowroot Stone Brick, a new useful and essential item. They can be found in loot carts, dropped by all the mobs, and can be made by smelting regular glowroot stone in a furnace/blaster. They can be used to craft chips now (finally!) and other recipes ingame have been changed to now use these bricks.
  • Added Melted Chrysoprase (only accessible via creative menu, still early beta.) A new liquid material meant to fuel glowroot machines, but as of now isnt coded in fully. It will receive more changes going further.
  • Many recipes changed to be more accurate/fair to an average survival gameplay.
  • Changed death drops of all mobs to have less annoying and inventory-filling drops (to an extent.)
  • Added new features for hybrids (still only accessible through /summon.) Gave them dynamic sounds. Looking at a walking hybrid from face to face will make ite steps appear more loud and noticeable, but if facing away the steps become muffled and quieter, intended for the idea of sneakiness/making the hybrid more creepy when found in labs.
  • Removed chrysoprase tile walls due to being ugly with the new texture overhaul.
  • All mobs have complete model redesigns/changes. Some more changes will be enacted sooner or later. (THE DRILL GOLEM'S TEXTURE HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED.)
  • Added new particles to the mod, such as a new custom generic glow/sparkle particle thats quite pretty. Artificial variant particles with their different colors have been added to most, but not all, particles.
  • Added artificial glowbangs 2 and 3, currently only accessible via /give. From 1, (reg,) to 3 (max,) each glowbang becomes more powerful, with a larger radius of aoe, more dazzling and even glowing effect duration, more particles/different particle colors, etc… (these particles have also been included for artificial doors.)
  • WARNING: Do note that some of the textures for some parts of the mod HAVE NOT BEEN UPDATED, and thus might cause confusion. This relates to features such as GUI elements (specifically the Glowroot Machine,) the Glowroot Golem's drill variant, and other varying textures. Most of the re-textures tended to keep their original design/look to what they were before, but do note some are vastly different.

Glowroot 1.0.8.5:

  • Added in a new weapon, Cannonprase. When holding down right click, it charges up for about 3 seconds, before being able to release Chrysoprase Nexus, (introduced back in 1.0.8.4.) It removes 100 durability, (out of 1500,) per nexus shot, and it deals 1 damage per 2 ticks that you hold down the right click trigger after being fully charged. Recipe has also been added, and it can be recharged with a Glowroot Battery.
  • Did a complete texture overhaul for almost every single glowroot stone-type block, (and some other blocks.) Mob textures, and some custom 3d model textures have not been changed yet, but will be in future updates.
  • Added in Dazzling potions (2 effect timer variants,) and Lucidity potions. All with splash, lingering, and arrows aswell. (recipes dont show up in JEI, but Dazzling uses glow sacs with awkward potions, and Lucidity uses cooked squid tentacles with awkward potions.
  • Added a new blockset of Polished Glowroot Bricks.
  • Added in compatability with Trickery.
  • Increased the spawning of Glowroot mobs to make them more common instead of being so rare. I'll try to make this even more consistent in future updates.
  • Fixed the issue with both Nexus and Glow squid balloons not emitting particles while flying mid-air.
  • Retextured both glow and regular ink sac balloon textures, and all tentacle textures.
  • Added in a new block, the Rooted Block. it can be climbed, and when destroying, all connecting blocks will break in sequence, (they do not drop the item itself.) This mechanic will receive updates in the future to make it more realistic/natural.
  • Fixed the issue with the Pure Glowroot recipe.
  • Added in some new recipes.
  • Jetpacks and Chrysoprase Nexus now leave a new particle trail while in-air.
  • Edited some advancements.
  • Fixed some bugs with the Lucidity effect.
  • Retextured the Experiment and Core painting.
  • Edited the projectile models of Chrysoprase Nexus and Glowbangs to be more consistent with the hitboxes
  • Glowbangs now emit 2 more seconds of dazzling/glowing (at level-1.)
  • Edited the sounds of robotic mobs, (golems, quadcopters and hermits.)
  • Drinking milk/clearing dazzling will now finally get rid of the overlay itself aswell, rather than just the effect.
  • Chrysoprase splat dust blocks will now convert glowroot stone into glowrooted stone if it lands/is placed on top.
  • Fixed a bug with Glowlights being repaired by a battery without using up charge, and also wasting charge in creative.
  • Added in unusable beta wiring system, which will be replacing the rune system eventually.
  • Artificial Upgrades for items is now a WIP. Glowbang levels 2 and 3 have beeb added, each level with custom particles and more power. (Will be obtainable in future updates.)
  • Increased node generation slightly.
  • Buffed the Glowroot toolset to have more attack damage. It will receive other buffs in future updates to make it more reasonable for the recipe. -Edited the functionality behind Artificial blocks. -Redid the pallete used for artificial 2 and 3 to stay more consistent and simplistic.

Glowroot 1.0.8.4:

  • Added Pure Glowroot Leaves, a new craftable food-source from Glowroot Vines.
  • Added in Glowrooted Herbs, a new bowl-type craftable food, that will automatically heal more health based on the light level you stand in, and also stacks up to 4.
  • Added in Chrysoprase Nexus, a new projectile/item that when landing will cause a small explosion, that leaves behind some Chrysoprase dust splats.
  • Added a recipe for the Mining Helmet, making it finally obtainable.
  • Retextured the Mining Helmet.
  • Added a new potion effect, Lucidity, given when eating Vari-ink Calamari, that makes Dazzling, Darkness, and Blindness fade away quicker.
  • Fixed a issue with jetpacks being buggy when switching dimensions.
  • Fixed the jetpack not decreasing the fuel cost for unbreaking when in elytra state.
  • Changed how Glowroot TNT works, now having a 5-10% chance to turn blocks into Chrysoprase Nexus, causing much more destruction than before. Also, the dazzling and glowing effect are no longer set to a specific value, even when far away. The effects will now be shortened/increased in time depending on your distance from the tnt.
  • Glowroot Petals and Glowroot Vines are now bone-mealable.
  • Changed some recipes for items/blocks, and added some new ones.
  • Changed the xp output of some recipes, and Glowroot Nodes.
  • Made Grow Emitters generate flowers every 45 seconds, instead of every minute.
