What is DexMasters, and why?

We are a community-driven F2P server run by a small team that intends to shape both current content and future additions around the feedback you provide. DexMasters was created as a place to provide a casual environment that is both welcoming to everyone and not watered down with profit-centric features. We are not a corporate-tier development team, but regular joes with regular jobs just like anyone else. It's just so happens that we also run a server, too. DexMasters will never be run like a business.

Ok, but is this server actually nonP2W...?

When it comes to the "What is P2W?" debate, I do not believe there is as much ambiguity as people say there is. Either your real money can be translated to actual in-game value, or it can't. DexMasters has no room for that grey area that many might dance around in. We will only ever sell cosmetic goods or items that affect all players equally in our online store. Finally, any forms of randomized content that we may implement in the future will of course never be paid and will never have essential or core content locked behind them. Well, what features do you have available?

• Become your favorite type!

  • We have utilized the Origins mod to provide custom type-based origins. Embody your favorite type and gain various buffs, debuffs, and abilities themed around that type! Like the Dragon type? Gain permanent elytra and use Draco Meteor to shoot fireballs at will, but exhaust hunger more quickly! What about Fire type? You can shoot an arrow Flamethrower and use Burn Up to set yourself on fire to gain temporary buffs! Normal type is your effective opt-out of this feature, containing no buffs, debuffs, or abilities.

• Complete multiple Stardew Valley inspired bundles!

  • Visit Gimmighoul at /warp guild to turn in various items for rewards through a system styled like Stardew Valley bundles. We have over 20 Bundles to complete, including a difficult Final Bundle!

• Rise through the ranks by completing research tasks!

  • Loosely based on the research system of Legends: Arceus, there are many Research Tasks for you to complete to earn points, which are the way you rank up on DexMasters!

• 8 player-run gyms for you to challenge!

  • Take on the Gym Challenge and battle our 8 Gym Leaders, whose types were voted on by our community, for glory and prizes. If you win, you can rechallenge them monthly for even more rewards!

• Protect your land from unsavory individuals!

  • Open Parties and Claims is a fantastic tool to protect and share your land. You can claim entire chunks straight from Xaero's Minimap(included) and also see any claim from there as well. Diverse flag control lets you tweak your protection exactly how you want it.

• More to cook, more to eat!

  • Expand your diet with Farmer's Delight & Add-ons. Bake a Coffee Cake, brew some tea, share a pot roast with your friends, and much more!

• Extra blocks and decor!

  • Included in this pack is the full suite of Macaw's Mods alongside Handcrafted and more to provide you with much more options for building your home and decorating your landscape!

• Talk to the community in-game!

  • We have added Simple Voice Chat to this modpack to allow to you participate in opt-in proximity voice chat on our server. This is entirely optional and is disabled by default until you press N to unmute other people. This does not unmute you, however, which is a separate keybind(M). Others will be able to see if you have this disabled to avoid confusion.

• Express yourself!

  • Using the Emotecraft mod will let you show just a bit more emotion when interacting with other players. The server provides a base list of emotes for you to use, but you are free to upload your own to your client that others will be able to see with no input on their end.

• Other features include, but are not limited to:

  • Terralith Generation + many structure mods.
  • Lootr for instance-based chest looting.
  • Monthly themed and unthemed tournaments.
  • Pokemon outbreaks and themed distortions that spawn around you.
  • Earn profit through GTS, selling pokemon to the server, mining, and more.
  • Various shops and QoL services to help you on your adventure.
  • Gacha-style Legendary Summoning that costs in-game items to do.
  • Over 60 collectible prefixes that can be swapped to at any time.
  • All base/modded advancements reward money/items and are worth doing now.
  • ChestShops and PlayerWarps for even more player interaction.
  • Varying and periodic chat-based trivia questions.
  • New and modified recipes for things like elytra and master balls.
  • Custom music discs and funny goat horn(pokeflute) sounds.
  • Most MC mobs are turned off, but our in-game shop sells their drops.
  • Multiple expertly balanced custom regionals suggested by our community.
