Colored Obsidian Dimension Portals, and Nether Portals.
Typical portal design using Colored Obsidian to form Nether Portal frames on the left, and Obsidian Dimension Portals on the right.
Tiny Nether Portals.
Because of the inclusion of Custom Nether Portals from Vanilla Tweaks, the tiniest Nether Portal can be 3x2, but there must be 3 blocks on the bottom of any design. The blocks can be Blocks, or Panes though.

Nether Portal Fun Part 1
It's a Nether Portal alright. Kinda fancy. But wait...
Nether...Portal...? Fun Part 2
Well, it still gets you to The Nether, so are you really going to complain?
Nether....Portal...Fun Part 3
Dr. Frankenstein's Portal Monster. The Frankenportal. It's coming to take you away....to The Nether! (evil laugh crescendo)
Half completed "Display" building.
One corner is incomplete to illustrate the various pieces used in the construction. The Crying Obsidian is casting the Light around the building.
White Obsidian Dimension
Caution! There be monsters about! Also, White Obsidian in the hills!
Light Gray Obsidian Dimension
Caution: There be mushrooms here! And yes, also monsters! But look, Light Gray Obsidian...in the hills!
Gray Obsidian Dimension
Caution: This is a depressing dimension. Very gray, and drab, but also with monsters and Gray Obsidian...in the h..walls! (You thought I was going to say hills)
Black Obsidian Dimension
Caution: Things go bump in the Black-ness of the Obsidian depths! Like monsters and such, but also probably people harvesting Black Obsidian in the (alright, I'll stop that)
Brown Obsidian Dimension
Well, it is not Orange, and it does not look healthy, but enjoy the Brown Obsidian Dimension!
Red Obsidian Dimension
Within the heart of every Viking living in the 21st Century, beats the life blood of the Red Obsidian Dimenion. (Not really, but that sounded really good, didn't it? Also, look Red Obsidian!)
Orange Obsidian Dimension
Knock, knock. Who is there? Orange? Orange who? Orange Obsidian Dimension of course! (Orange you glad I didn't tell a joke?)
Yellow Obsidian Dimension
I mean we all know about Yellow Snow, right? Well, this is just Yellow Obsidian, so that is totally fine.
Lime Obsidian Dimension
You know what they say, when life gives you Limes, make a Lime Obsidian Dimension!
Green Obsidian Dimension
Green Goblin(tm) would have a field day in the Green Obsidian Dimension, two of their favorite colors! Except this green gas isn't noxious.
Cyan Obsidian Dimension
Cyan, what can we say about Cyan? Its not quite blue, and not quite green, but it is surrounded by lava, and at least one tree.
Light Blue Obsidian Dimension
There are some occasions when a light summer blue just goes well with the brown dirt and grassy trim. This is probably the only occasion, but that counts as a "some".
Blue Obsidian Dimension
Blue-yah! With dirt too, grassy dirt at that. Count your lucky stars, just find a dimension that has stars first.
Purple Obsidian Dimension
Tonight we summon the spirt of James Marshall Hendrix...excuse me while I "kiss this guy". (Purple Haze, complete with misheard lyric!)
Magenta Obsidian Dimension
It is definitely Magenta. You got that too, right? I wasn't sure at first, so thank you for agreeing!
Pink Obsidian Dimension
Calling Mr. Floyd, is there a Floyd in the house, a Mr. Pink Floyd? No, just a lot of Pink Obsidian.
