Client Projectiles!

This mod creates client-sided predicitions for thrown entities and projectiles, specifically:

  • Ender Pearls
  • Windcharges
  • Experience Bottles
  • Splash/Lingering Potions
  • Arrows shot from a Crossbow/Bow

Information

For the interactions listed above, this mod provides visual predictions through the client, rather than waiting for the server to do so. This mod improves the feeling of responsiveness on high ping, while providing no competitive advantage.

It's important to note that this mod does not provide any optimizations to these interactions, and arguebly is impossible to do so viably due to the randomness (divergence) applied to these entities on the server. Attempting to optimize these interactions (for example, applying knockback from the windcharge on the client before server confirmation would most certainly flag anti-cheat and would not be competitively viable). This mod adds visual predictions, often corrected by the server regardless, and nothing more.
