The Cave Dust mod adds falling white ash particles from the Nether's Basalt Deltas biome into your underground caves to simulate a dusty
Particle performance has been improved: sky visibility and nearby heat-source checks are now cached and updated every 5 ticks instead of continuously. Unnecessary calculations and temporary object creation have been reduced, and dust no longer spawns inside blocks or fluids. Crashes and compatibility issues have been fixed, in-game configuration has been improved, and the default particle density has been reduced from 25 to 8 for better FPS without changing the core generation algorithm.
