Bright Client

A lightweight client-side Fabric mod focused on useful HUD features, customization, translation and quality-of-life tools.

Bright Client is a client-side mod for Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.11. It combines customizable HUD modules, visual improvements, waypoints, chat tools, performance diagnostics and an integrated Modrinth browser in one configurable in-game interface.

The mod works entirely on the client side and does not require Bright Client to be installed on the server.

HUD & information

Bright Client includes multiple configurable HUD elements, including:

Supported HUD elements can be moved and scaled using the built-in HUD Editor.

Available visual modules include:

• Dropped Item Labels
• Color Adjustments

These features are client-side visual changes only. For example, Custom Hitboxes does not extend reach or reveal entities through walls.

Waypoints

Bright Client includes a waypoint system for marking important locations.

Waypoints can include:

• custom names
• coordinates
• colors
• visibility settings
• distance information

Waypoints are associated with the current world/server and dimension where appropriate.

Chat translation

Bright Client provides built-in chat translation tools with support for multiple languages.

Available translation providers include:

• MyMemory
• OpenAI using the user's own API key
• LibreTranslate using a configurable endpoint
• a small local fallback dictionary

Online translations are processed asynchronously and may send the selected text to the configured translation provider.

Modrinth browser

Bright Client includes an in-game browser for discovering Fabric mods and resource packs from Modrinth.

You can:

• search Modrinth projects
• browse categories
• view project icons and information
• select compatible versions
• inspect required dependencies
• download mods and resource packs

Project thumbnails are loaded automatically as temporary interface images while browsing.

Actual mod, resource-pack and dependency files are never downloaded automatically.

Before a file transfer begins, Bright Client displays a confirmation screen containing information about the files being downloaded. The download only starts after the user explicitly confirms it.

Approved downloads may then continue in the background.

Bright Client does not include an automatic self-updater.

Performance tools

Bright Client also includes performance and diagnostic tools for investigating Minecraft performance.

Available information can include:

• average FPS
• frame times
• 1% low FPS
• 0.1% low FPS
• detected stutters
• memory usage
• garbage collection information
• Java Flight Recorder support

These tools are intended for monitoring and diagnostics and do not guarantee a specific FPS or latency improvement.

Interface

Bright Client provides a configurable in-game client menu with:

• organized module categories
• module search
• individual module settings
• Dark and Bright themes
• configurable HUD elements
• custom module icons
• modern rounded interface elements

Most features can be enabled or disabled independently.

Installation

Bright Client currently targets:

• Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.11
• Fabric
• Java 21
• Fabric API

Install Fabric for Minecraft 1.21.11, place the Bright Client JAR and Fabric API inside your Minecraft mods folder, and start the game.

Mod Menu is optional.

Key bindings can be changed through Minecraft's control settings.

Configuration

Bright Client stores its settings locally inside the Minecraft instance.

Configuration includes module states, HUD positions, visual settings, waypoint data and translation preferences.

Online features such as translation and Modrinth browsing require an internet connection.

Multiplayer

Bright Client is designed as a client-side utility mod.

When using it on multiplayer servers, always follow the rules of the server you are playing on, especially when using informational overlays, chat utilities or other convenience features.
