🔧 Balance Changes

Early-game tuning: Increased starting Hearts / Food / Water (and related gauges) from 1 → 3 to ease the opening minutes based on community feedback.

✨ Enchantments & Temperature

Fire Protection synergy: Implemented a heat-gain multiplier reduction that scales with Fire Protection level per armor piece. Higher enchant levels = stronger resistance to heat buildup.

New Enchantment: Cold Protection Works like Fire Protection, but against cold—reduces cold buildup/damage, scaling with enchant level per armor piece.

🐴 Undead Mounts — Size Rules

Zombie Horses and Skeleton Horses now spawn only as Baby or Normal.

Removed random oversized variants for cleaner balance and visuals.

🍂 NEW: Seasonal World System

The world now shifts through harsh, survival-focused seasons that affect weather, terrain, plants, and visuals.

Freezing Biomes: When a biome gets cold enough, it freezes:

Water turns to ice.

Rain becomes snow.

Plants can freeze and die, but may sprout again in spring.

Heat & Drought: In very hot conditions, plants can wither and die.

Biome Colors: Foliage/grass/water tint changes with the season, giving each region a distinct seasonal look.

Year Length: An in-game year lasts 91 days (balanced for progression and performance).

Command: /season — view or set the current season (admin/OP only; supports direct selection and cycling).

✅ Changes & Fixes

Saturation ↔ Nutrition Coupling

Early game is less punishing: base saturation now scales with your nutrition (protein/carbs/fat/water). This gives new spawns a short grace window so you don’t instantly dehydrate, while still rewarding good diet later.

Safer Spawns (Temperature-Aware)

The game tries to restrict player spawn to neutral-temperature biomes to reduce immediate deaths from heat or cold.

(Fallback logic applies if a neutral spawn is not available, then you spawn by default location)

Plant Ecology Overhaul (Temperature-Aware Decay/Growth)

Plants now react to ambient temperature:

  • Too cold → plants can die; growth is very slow.
  • Cool to mild → slow growth.
  • Warm → faster growth.
  • Too hot → plants can die.

This applies to crops and wild flora, making farming a true survival challenge.

🌡️ NEW: Dynamic Temperature System

The environment now truly fights against you. Temperature is no longer just a detail — it’s survival.

  • Each biome now has its own temperature range that affects your body.
  • Depending on where you are, your temperature will rise or fall dynamically.
  • If your body temperature goes too high or too low, you’ll start to take damage.
  • In heat, you lose water faster.
  • In cold, you lose food faster.

Two new damage sources have been added:

  • 🧊 Cold Damage
  • 🔥 Heat Damage

Your surroundings now decide whether you live — or melt, or freeze.


💦 NEW: Wet Effect

Introducing the “Wet” status effect — because staying dry matters.

  • You become Wet when it rains or when you enter water.
  • While Wet, your body cools down faster, making cold environments even more dangerous.
  • The effect cannot be removed with milk — you’ll have to dry off naturally.

Survival isn’t just about eating and drinking anymore — it’s about staying warm and dry.

  • 🧰 Fixed: A critical respawn crash bug that could occur when rejoining the world after death.
  • 🧩 General optimizations for player state updates and environmental calculations.
