BetterBees is a lightweight and survival-friendly Paper Minecraft plugin that expands the role of bees by turning them into loyal companions and helpful allies. The plugin allows bees to be tamed using flowers, and once tamed, they can also be bred with flowers. Tamed bees will follow their owner and can be told to sit and stay, behaving similarly to wolves and cats in vanilla Minecraft. In combat, tamed bees will assist their owner by shooting their stings at any mob the player is attacking, as long as the bee is not sitting. Bees must be tamed in order to attack mobs, ensuring fair and controlled gameplay. Each sting deals 0.87 damage per hit to keep the plugin balanced and suitable for survival serve BetterBees also adds a useful utility feature by allowing tamed bees to help players gather honey. Every time a player sleeps, there is a 30 percent chance that one of their tamed bees will give them a honey bottle and a 12 percent chance that it will give a honey block. This adds a rewarding but not overpowered benefit for players who choose to care for and tame bees. The plugin is designed to be efficient and easy on server performance, making it ideal for both small and large Paper servers.
