Our plugin streamlines backups to easily backup your worlds, plugins, and other server files automatically.

Low Storage cost

Compresses your backups to take up far less storage than typical backups.

Compression Options

• Can pick level of compression on a scale 0-9
• 0-2 .tar -no compression just as much storage as server's raw files
• 3-6 .zip -standard zip file faster compression and compatible with more machines.
• 7-9 .7z -highest level of compression, takes longer

Commands

• /backup now - creates a backup
• /backup list - lists backups
• /backup delete - deletes the backup with the selected id
• /backup restore - reverts back to a world/full backup with a selected id(EXPERIMENTAL)
• /backup reload - reloads the plugin

Backup Retention

• can delete backups after X days
• can delete backups if there are X number of backups
• hard storage cap - deletes oldest backup if newer ones make the backups folder take up too much storage.

Backs Up Automatically

Can set the plugin to backup every:

• Fixed interval -every X minutes
• Cron-style scheduling
• Backup only when no players are online for a set duration
• Scheduled restart & backup at a specific time
• On startup / shutdown triggers

Player Control

• Can kick players when starting a backup
• Can prevent players from joining if a backup is in progress
• When managing players gives them a message, "backup in progress"
• Can backup silently in the backround (NOT recommended)

Customizable Scope

• can choose what specific files to include/exclude
• ex: plugins/BetterBackups/

Performance

• Configurable thread usage
• Optional I/O throttling to reduce disk impact

Plug & Play

automatically fetches compression binaries so you can compress to .tar, .zip, and .7z just from installing the plugin.

Permissions

• backup.run - able to use /backup now
• backup.restore - able to use /backup restore
• backup.list - able to use /backup list

Safety Features

• Prevents overlapping backups
• Aborts if disk space is too low
• Detects and removes partial backups
• Optional checksum verification (SHA-256) (EXPERIMENTAL)
