Recrafted Crafting

Greetings stranger in this weird cubic world!

Ever wished for a more realistic, way more adequate crafting outcomes? Ever questioned yourself whether the Mojang devs attended elementary school or just skipped the mathematic lessons? Did you asked yourself where has all the rest of the materials used during crafting gone? Why are so many crafting recipes wastefull, or in some cases irationaly overpowered? Very well then, this datapack is right for you! Nothing new was added, just all the vanilla crafting recipes as you know them but they had been recalculated correctly.

This datapack aims to fix some of the absurd nonsense vanilla crafting recipe results, like getting just one small piece of a button out of a full block, or using 6 planks of wood but receiving only 4 wooden stairs?!, etc. Over 257 recipes had been corrected. The goal is not to make the game crafting easier or harder, but to make it more real, at least in terms of logic and mathematics, science, physics one could say, well at least in Minecraft metrics. Because there is no way you can get 4 qubic meters of wood out of 1 qubic meter of log. If this ever offended your base intelligence just as it does mine, this pack is right for you my friend! ;-)

That means alot of recipes had been affected, most of them yield now more products than in vanilla. (ie. sticks, buttons, etc.) But there are some where the results based on logic are quite the opposite and thus yield less. (most notably the Wooden Planks)

Basicaly any block or item that is crafted is adequately reflected in terms of material quantity used versus results yielded.

Only the outcome results from the crafting had been adjusted, no ingredients or patterns had been touched otherwise. So it's all standard vanilla crafting as you know it, except for the outcome ammount has been made justice.

EXMAPLE:

1 wood log = 1 planks block (by default it was 4) = yields less than it was in vanilla

1 planks block = 32 sticks, 16 pressure plates, etc. = yields more than it was in vanilla

THE RULES WHICH HAD BEEN FOLLOWED

All the amounts of yielded results had been thoroughfully calculated based on pixels, width, height, thickness, resp. some comparision to full block. The connectable blocks had been calculated considering the maximum possible connected sides. (stone walls, wooden fences, glass panes, etc.)

EXCEPTIONS

Some items/blocks are unfortunately not reflecting the above rules, due to the (absurdly) hardcoded stacksizes on some of them. Ie. Signs, Banners, etc. If I learn how to override the hardcoded stacksizes, that feature will be part of the updated version in future! (Any help on this matter is welcome! just PM me)

Some items/blocks are not affected either, due to the value of materials used in the crafting recipe, where ie. one single item imput is of higher value than the rest of the materials used, thus the crafting result was based on the amount of that higher value material used. A Jukebox is a good example for this occurence, where there are multiple blocks of planks used (8) but only a single one diamond. And since Diamond is of higher value (rare) the crafting yields just 1 signle Jukebox, instead of 8 jukeboxes. (mostly functional blocks (ie. Enchanting table) or redstone items/blocks are in this exception category)

Tools and Equipment were not changed either.

Stairs made out of stone type blocks were left vanilla, as they have the Stonecutter alternative where the outcome is adequately given. That means, you will still earn just 4 stairs out of 6 stone blocks in crafting table. This is to make you utilise the Stonecutter instead of crafting stone blocks from crafting table.

BUGS, ISSUES & TROUBLESHOOTING

The datapack was tested in game concurrently during creation. So there should NOT be any issues. In the case you come across any bugs or issues, leave a comment or contact me via PM.
