Plated Elytras
A data pack that adds Elytras with (minor) armor values to the game. Tries to be balanced while adding some quality of life to the game.
This data pack allows players to combine their Elytra with a chestplate of their choice. One half of the chestplate's armor value is added to the Elytra. The chestplate's enchantments are not transferred over (balance choice).
For versions < 1.20.5, you can craft your Plated Elytra by throwing a slime ball, elytra and a chestplate of your choice on top of an anvil.
For versions 1.20.5+, you can craft the Plated Elytras by putting a slime ball, your chestplate of choice and an elytra inside a crafting grid. The old anvil method has been removed. Additionally, the Netherite variant is now fire resistent.
