Improved Enchanting

Overview

This mod adds some new enchantments and makes them easier to understand by putting them into seperate exlusive categories, and makes less used enchantments more viable than they were before.

Enchantment Exlusivity Rules

For all enchantments, there are 4 tiers of enchantments ("other" is not affected), primary, which is affecting all things within its perameters, secondary affects a large group of entities, like all undead mobs, the tertiary enchantments affect smaller groups of entites, like all raiders or bosses. Special is a passive ability that affects how you use the weapon, it is probally the most important enchantment of them all. Each enchantment tier is exlusive to itself, for example you can't have 2 primary enchantments, but you can have 1 primary enchantment and 1 secondary, you have to chose between the enchantments in each level.

Armor Enchantments

Primary Armor Enchantments

Primary Armor Enchantments

This level incldes the enchantment, protection with a few tweaks and a new enchantment, reinforced.

Protection

Protection

This enchantment has gone through some tweaking, it only has half the normal protection that it would normally give, and is only found in the enchanting table. With full protection 4, you get 32% general damage protection

Reinforced

Reinforced

This enchantment gives more armor points to your player, giving 1.5 total armor bars, and an extra 4 armour toughness points. The more pieces of armor you put on with this enchantment, the bigger the upgrade is. The downside to this enchantment is that it only gives protection against direct attacks, and it is only found in ancient cities.

Secondary Armor Enchantments

Here you will find more generalised enchantments, with bigger protection rates, it is better to mix both of these two enchantments for best results.

Melee Proteciton

Melee Protection

This enchantment gives proteciton to all direct Melee attacks, giving 6% damage reduction per level. If you have all your armor enchanted with full Melee Protection 4 and Protection 4, it gives 128% damage reduction, but the Protection rate is hard capped at 80%, but with half of your armor with Melee Protection 4 and Full Protection 4, it gives exactly 80% damage reduction to Melee attacks. You can find this enchantment in general loot, the enchanting table and villagers.

Projectile Protection

Projectile Protection

This enchantment gives proteciton to all direct Projectile attacks, giving 6% damage reduction per level. If you have all your armor enchanted with full Projectile Protection 4 and protection 4, it gives 128% damage reduction, but the Protection rate is hard capped at 80%, but with half of your armor with Projectile Protection 4 and Full Protection 4, it gives exactly 80% damage reduction to Projectile attacks. You can find this enchantment in general loot, the enchanting table and villagers.

Tertiary Armor Enchantments

This level of enchantments has very specific damage types that it takes care of, using blast and Fire protection to block the Incoming damage.

Fire Protection

Fire Protection

This enchantment gives proteciton to all Fire based attacks, giving 6% damage reduction per level. If you have all your armor enchanted with full Fire Protection 4 and protection 4, it gives 128% damage reduction, but the Protection rate is hard capped at 80%, but with half of your armor with Fire Protection 4 and Full Protection 4, it gives exactly 80% damage reduction to Fire based attacks. This enchantment also shortens the time you stay on fire for. You can find this enchantment in general loot, the enchanting table and villagers.

Blast Protection

Blast Protection

This enchantment gives proteciton to all explosion damage, giving 6% damage reduction per level. If you have all your armor enchanted with full Blast Protection 4 and protection 4, it gives 128% damage reduction, but the Protection rate is hard capped at 80%, but with half of your armor with Blast Protection 4 and Full Protection 4, it gives exactly 80% damage reduction to Explosions. This enchantment also reduces the knockback of explosives. You can find this enchantment in general loot, the enchanting table and villagers.

Special Enchantments

This has an assortment of some special use case enchantments, i gave the chestplate two enchantments to pick from and the pants another one to pick from, so it would have the same amount of enchantments as the helmet and the boots.

Absorbing Hearts (chestplate only)

Absorbing Hearts

This enchantment has a chance to give you absorption on hit, blocking some damage for 5 seconds. The chance for the absorption is 10% at the start, and each level above that gives 5% extra chance for you to get absorption, and at the max level of 3, you get absorption 2, rather than 1. You can only find this enchantment in The treasure loot in the shipwrecks.

Retaliate (chestplate only)

Retaliate

This enchantment gives you a chance to get some strength on hit, dealing much more damage in the next period of time, each level increases the time you have strength by .5 seconds after the first second. Each level also increases the damage by 3 points. The chance of the chestplate giving you strength is increased from 10% by 5% every level, up to the max level of 3, where it is 20%. This enchantment is only found in the ancient city.

Dash (leggings only)

Dash

This enchantment is still verry buggy, and is quite confusing, when you jump up or down one block, you get a small speed boost that is maintained by jumping, (Turn off FOV effects please) This speed can scale quickly if you know what you are doing. The speed is determined by the level. This enchantment is found in regular vaults in trial chambers.

Bow Enchantments

Sword Enchantments

Sword Enchants

Sword Enchanting Overview

There are some enchantments here to do with melee weapons, all are directly compatible on the swords, and are compatible to axes through books, except heavy hitter, swift strike and reach, which are directly compatible on axes.

Primary Sword Enchantments

This is where you find the main two enchants of the pack, Swift Strike and Heavy Hitter.

Swift Strike

Swift Strike

increases your attack speed by 1 per level, but decreases your damage by 0.5 per level, and having a max level of 6, means that you can get a weapon up to 2.2 attack speed at the cost of -3 damage. This enchantment is found in the enchanting table, and in various loot including villager trades.

Heavy Hitter

Heavy Hitter

Increases your attack damage by 1.15 at level 1 and an extra .75 damage every level above it, but at the cost of lower attack speed, losing 1 attack speed per level. This enchantment can go up to the level of 6, meaning that at its max, it will give you 4.9 extra damage at the cost of having 6 slower attack speed. This enchantment is found in the enchanting table, and in various loot including villager trades.

Secondary Sword Enchantments

Here you will find some general damage type enchantments, all of the slayer types will be here. There are 2 new enchantments here, ender and nether slayer, alongside smite.

Undead Slayer/Smite

Undead Slayer/Smite

This enchantment is already in the game and remains unedited as of now, other than the fact that it is exlusive to the other secondary weapons, it does 2.5 extra damage per level to undead mobs, and goes up to level 5, meaning it does 12.5 extra damage to undead mobs at level 5. This enchantment is found in the enchanting table, and in various loot including villager trades.

Nether Slayer

Nether Slayer

Nether slayer does more damage to mobs from the nether or if you are in the nether, it does 3 extra damage per level and goes up to level 5, doing 15 damage to mobs in or from the nether at its max echanting level. This enchantment is found in the enchanting table, and in various loot including villager trades. It is also found in ruined portals and nether fortresses.

Ender Slayer

Ender Slayer

Ender slayer is just like nether slayer, doing more damage to mobs from the end more damage if you are in the end, it does 3 extra damage per level up to 5, doing a maximum damage of 15 if you are in the end, or attacking mobs from the end. This enchantment is found in the enchanting table, and in various loot including villager trades. It is also found in stronghold libraries.

Tertiary Sword Enchantments

Here you will find more specialised damage enchantments, doing damage to a few groups of mobs, also known as the "banes".

Illager's Bane

Illager's Bane

This does an extra 2.5 damage per level to illagers and raiders, at its max enchantment level, 5, it does 12.5 extra damage to raiders. This enchantment is found in the enchanting table, and in various loot including villager trades, it is also found in pillager outposts.

Boss' Bane

Boss' Bane

Dealing double the damage of the rest of the tertiary enchantments, at 5 damage per level, Boss' Bane can do some serious work if you fight a lot of bosses, doing 25 extra damage at max level to bosses. This enchantment is found in the enchanting table, and in various loot including villager trades.

Bane of Arthropods

Bane Of Arthropods

Although I tried to make this enchantment more useful than it is in the base game, it is such a neiche enchantment, doing more damage to bugs, at 2.5 per level and a max of 12.5 extra damage, it is still quite useless. This enchantment is found in the enchanting table, and in various loot including villager trades.

Cubism

Cubism (Yes, I know it doesn't have bane in it)

This enchantmnet came from the inspiring of hypixel skyblock, it does more damage to creepers, slimes, magma cubes and ghasts, doing 2.5 damage per level, at a max of 12.5 damage. This enchantment is found in the enchanting table, and in various loot including villager trades.

Special Sword Enchantments

Here, you will find many different types of enchants, from damage to health to freezing an enemy in place, this is the most interesting enchantment type out of them all.

Lifesteal

Lifesteal

Lifesteal is a healing enchantment reviving 2 hearts by a chance when you hit a mob. This enchantment starts at a 10% chance and increases by 5% every level, up to 25% at level 4. This enchantment is found in the chests of the ancient cities.

Wither Coat

Wither Coat

This enchant gives the wither effect on hit, damaging the enemy, it does more damage than fire aspect, lasting from 5-7.5 seconds depending what level. This enchantment only goes up to level 2, and it lasts for 7.5 seconds at this level. This enchantment is found in mineshafts and nether fortesses as of the Definitive update v1.1.

Freeze

Freeze

This enchant gives the hit entity slowness 10 effect, completely freezing them for 2-3 seconds on hit, and this enchantment only has one level. This enchantment is only found in the lower level of the igloos.

Fire Aspect

Fire Aspect

This enchantment is unedited, and is left the same as it was. This enchantment is found in the enchanting table, and in various loot including villager trades.

Poison Tipped

Poison Tipped

This enchant is quite confusing, as it does damage to some mobs and not others, as they are poison resistant. It is quite balanced, as no matter what, it can't kill the mobs, it brings them down to half a heart using poison, and then you can make the final strike, works well with swift strike. This enchantment is only found in the chests of the jungle temples.

"Other" Sword Enchantments

This is just a misclanious part where there are two enchants, the other exlusivity rules do not apply to these two, and they are exlusive to different things, it says in their description.

Anti Knockback

Anti Knockback

This enchantment is quite unreliable from my experience, but it hits the mobs back less than it does normally, and goes up to 2 levels. Its only exlusive enchantment is knockback. This enchantment is found in the enchanting table, and in various loot including villager trades.

Reach

Reach

This enchant allows you to reach an extra 2 blocks at its max level of 3, but it has the downside of the fact that it attacks slower by 2 attack speed, and is exlusive to sweeping edge. This enchantment is found in the enchanting table, and in various loot including villager trades.

I really recomend Overflowing Bars by Fuzs for this mod/datapack

If you want to use anything from this modpack, you are fine to do so, but I would ask that you would put a link to this page.
