A fully vanilla data pack that turns equipment progression into a two-way street: reforge your gear up or down the material tiers, and reclaim resources from anything you no longer need — no waste, no dead-end items.

🔨 Smithing Table Upgrades & Downgrades

Using amethyst shards as the upgrade template, freely move tools, armor and horse armor up or down the material chain — go from wood to netherite, or scrap netherite back down to iron if you need to.

Tools (pickaxe, axe, sword, shovel, hoe, spear):

• Wooden ↔ Stone ↔ Copper ↔ Iron ↔ Golden ↔ Diamond ↔ Netherite

Armor (helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots):

• Leather ↔ Chainmail ↔ Iron ↔ Golden ↔ Diamond ↔ Netherite
• Copper armor integrates into the same chain alongside iron and gold

Horse Armor:

• Leather ↔ Iron ↔ Copper ↔ Golden ↔ Diamond

Every conversion is fully bidirectional — upgrade for better protection, or downgrade to recover a lower tier without destroying the item.

🕹️ How to use

1. Install the data pack into your world's datapacks folder (or via /datapack enable).
2. Upgrade/downgrade: place your tool/armor + an amethyst shard in the smithing table.
3. Recycle: smelt equipment or supported blocks in a blast furnace as usual.

Fully vanilla mechanics — no new items, blocks, or commands. Survival- and multiplayer-safe.
