A forward-shaded Iris/OptiFine shaderpack focused on making water and lava feel physically grounded rather than just glossy overlays — real depth-based water coloring, layered ripple detail, and bump-mapped, vein-cracked lava crust.

Water

• Real depth-based shading — water actually darkens with true column depth (using the scene's depth buffer), giving a natural shoreline-to-deep gradient instead of a flat tint
• Dual-scale ripple normals: broad rolling waves + fine micro-ripple detail up close
• Dual-lobe specular (sharp sun glint + soft broad highlight) plus a drifting sparkle layer
• Smooth, organic whitecap foam on wave crests and along shorelines — no blocky noise grid
• Sky/fog reflection that shifts naturally with time of day and weather

Lava

• Bump-mapped crust — cracks and ridges actually catch light instead of reading as a flat glow
• Thin glowing veins tracing crack boundaries instead of soft color bands
• Randomized bubble-pop hotspots simulating gas venting through the crust
• Subtle obsidian-glass specular highlight on cooled crust areas

⚙️ Compatibility

Written in the standard OptiFine-compatible shader format (GLSL 120, legacy DRAWBUFFERS) — no version-locked features, so it should run wherever Iris or OptiFine is supported (currently Minecraft 1.16.5 through the latest 1.21.x).

🎛️ Configurable Options

Tweak wave height, foam intensity, water depth-fade distance, lava glow strength, specular strength, bloom, fog density, and more from the in-game shader options screen.
