WanderingPlus

WanderingPlus improves the vanilla Wandering Trader experience on multiplayer servers by giving each player an independent spawn cycle.

The plugin preserves Minecraft's native traders, trades, items, and entity behavior. It does not introduce custom trades, currencies, rarity systems, reputation, or other non-vanilla progression.

Features

• Per-player spawn cycles
  Every online player receives an independent Wandering Trader timer and spawn chance.

• Vanilla-friendly spawning
  Uses native Wandering Traders and Trader Llamas while respecting gamerules, biome restrictions, valid terrain, spectator mode, and vanilla-style location searching.

• Bell targeting
  Nearby bells are preferred as the trader's wandering target, with the player used as a fallback.

• Persistent state
  Player timers, spawn chances, ownership, and active visits survive server restarts. Offline time does not advance the spawn cycle.

• Paper and Folia support
  Region-safe scheduling allows the same plugin JAR to run on both platforms.

• Configurable messages
  All player-facing text is stored in message.yml and supports MiniMessage formatting.

• Administrator controls
  Inspect player status, force trader spawning, and reload configuration without restarting the server.

• Public API 1.1
  Other plugins can request trader spawns, query active traders, cancel or modify spawn locations, and observe spawn and removal events.

Commands

• /wanderingplus info [player]
  Displays trader status, spawn chance, timer, and managed trader capacity.

• /wanderingplus spawn <player>
  Forces a WanderingPlus trader spawn for an online player.

• /wanderingplus reload
  Reloads config.yml and message.yml.

WanderingPlus v0.2.0 has been tested on Paper 1.21.1, 1.21.5, 1.21.8 and 26.2, as well as Folia 1.21.11 and 26.2.

Installation

1. Download the WanderingPlus JAR.
2. Place it in the server's plugins/ directory.
3. Restart the server.
4. Edit config.yml and message.yml as needed.
5. Run /wanderingplus reload after configuration changes.

Developer API

The public API is included in the main WanderingPlus plugin. No separate API plugin is required.
