UnknownSMP is an anonymous survival plugin that strips away all identity. Every player looks the same, shares the same name, and hides behind the same Steve skin. Your mission? Discover who's who — and hunt them down.
🎭 How It Works
When you join an UnknownSMP server, your identity is completely erased:
- Your skin is replaced with the default Steve skin
- Your name is changed to "Player" everywhere — display name, tab list, and nametag
- All chat messages appear as Player — no one knows who's talking
- Private messaging (
/msg,/tell,/whisper,/reply),/me, and/teammsgare fully blocked
You are invisible in plain sight.
🗡️ The Hunt System
Each player receives a hunt assignment — a secret target to track down among the crowd of identical faces.
How to hunt:
- Observe — Pay attention to behavior, movements, and habits to figure out who's who
- Guess — Determine your target's real Minecraft username
- Forge your weapon — Rename a sword to the target's username using an anvil
- Strike — Kill your target with the named sword
✅ Correct guess? The target is eliminated and you earn powerful rewards. ❌ Wrong guess? You'll be notified — keep searching.
Each hunt has a 2-hour time limit (configurable). If time runs out, the target slips away and the hunt fails.

Complete hunts to unlock permanent combat buffs and climb the ranks:

When a Grand Hunter rises, the entire server is notified. Fear the one who walks unseen.
