Theosis 0.9.7 — Arcane Chisel Rework & Item Awakening

The Arcane Chisel has received a major rework in Theosis 0.9.7.

This system was originally designed to let players modify and improve their gear, but there was an important balance issue: perks could sometimes be inscribed onto items whose rarity was too low for them.

That has now been fixed.

⚒️ Arcane Chisel Balance Rework

The Arcane Chisel now respects the min_rarity defined for every perk inside perks.yml.

This means that perks can only appear on items that meet their minimum rarity requirement.

For example, a powerful perk intended for Rare or Epic equipment can no longer be randomly added to a Common or Uncommon item.

The Chisel now works within the item's actual rarity, making the system much more balanced and preventing extremely powerful combinations on low-rarity equipment.

✨ New: Awaken Vanilla Items

The Arcane Chisel can now Awaken vanilla equipment.

Any compatible vanilla weapon, armor piece, or tool can be placed inside the Arcane Chisel and transformed into a Theosis item.

This includes equipment you crafted yourself, such as:

• Swords
• Pickaxes
• Axes
• Shovels
• Armor
• Other compatible vanilla gear

When the Chisel detects a normal vanilla item, the interface automatically switches to Awakening Mode.

Awakening gives the item:

• A random Theosis rarity
• Random compatible perks
• Random sockets

This gives players another way to obtain Theosis equipment without depending entirely on exploration and loot generation.

🔮 Arcane Dust as an Awakening Catalyst

Arcane Dust now has an additional purpose.

Dust obtained through Arcane Decomposition can be used as a catalyst when awakening an item, reducing the amount of player experience required.

• Tier I Gems → Raw Dust
• Tier II Gems → Refined Dust
• Tier III Gems → Pure Dust

Higher-quality dust provides a better awakening catalyst and lowers the level cost.

By default, Awakening can generate items up to Rare rarity, keeping crafted vanilla equipment useful while preserving higher rarities for Theosis progression.

The entire Awakening system, including costs and behavior, can be configured from config.yml.

With this update, the Arcane Chisel becomes much more useful throughout progression: you can refine existing Theosis gear or take ordinary vanilla equipment and awaken its potential.
