SentinelCore - AntyCheat
An adaptive, confidence-based anti-cheat foundation for Paper. SentinelCore uses historical evidence and behavioral baselines for reliable, high-performance detection without NMS injections.

After initially installing the plugin, it is recommended to use the automatic calibration feature; you can also combine automatic calibration with AI in the configuration to better tune the anti-cheat. Future versions will see the anti-cheat evolve in its ability to detect and correct errors, as well as prevent increasingly sophisticated cheats.
🛡️ SentinelCore
A lightweight, calibration-driven anti-cheat for Paper servers - built to catch cheaters without punishing your players for lag, latency, or bad luck.
Most anti-cheats ship with one-size-fits-all thresholds tuned on someone else's server, someone else's TPS, someone else's playerbase. SentinelCore takes a different approach: every check is backed by evidence, decay, and confidence scoring instead of instant-flag rules, and the plugin can actually learn your server's real movement envelope through a built-in calibration system before it ever has to make a judgment call.
✨ Why SentinelCore?
- 🎯 Evidence-based, not trigger-happy. Every check accumulates weighted evidence over time with configurable decay, buffer, and confidence thresholds — a single lag spike or odd tick doesn't turn into a false ban. Detections only escalate once a consistent pattern is established.
- 🕊️ Passive by default - no rubberbanding. SentinelCore no longer needs to yank players back into place to do its job. In passive mode (on by default), every check still fully evaluates and scores every action - it just reports the evidence straight to your staff instead of fighting the client's position. No rollback fights, no desync, no "why did I just teleport" tickets.
- 📊 Real calibration, not guesswork. Run a full one-hour, isolated calibration session on a player and SentinelCore builds a statistical baseline of their actual movement - ground speed, jump arcs, slab/stair steps, water/lava movement, acceleration curves - inside a private void world with zero interference from the live server. The results feed directly back into live thresholds.
- 🧩 Built for Paper, not against it. No fragile NMS hooks. SentinelCore is written against modern Paper APIs so it stays compatible across version bumps instead of breaking every time Mojang reshuffles internals.
- ⚡ Performance-aware. Checks are staged (cheap → moderate → expensive) and automatically scale back under TPS pressure, so your anti-cheat doesn't become the reason your server lags.
🔍 What it detects
| Category | Checks |
|---|---|
| 🏃 Movement | Speed & bunny-hop abuse, illegal ascent/high-jump, sustained hover/flight, step-height abuse, wall-climbing ("spider"), liquid-walking ("jesus") |
| ⚙️ Physics exploits | NoFall-style fall-damage suppression, timer/tick-rate manipulation, malformed or out-of-order packets |
| ⚔️ Combat | Reach/hitbox validation with latency compensation, click-pattern and CPS anomaly detection, rotation/aim-snapping analysis |
| 🪂 Fall monitoring | Tracks real airborne descent per player and cross-checks it against actual damage taken on landing - catches suppressed fall damage without ever needing to touch the player's position |
Every check ships with sensible, calibration-friendly defaults and can be individually toggled, tuned, or disabled per-server.
🧪 Calibration, done properly
Point SentinelCore at a player (staff, a trusted tester, or a volunteer) and start a calibration run. The plugin:
- 🌑 Spins up an isolated void world and freezes the player for a short init phase.
- ⏱️ Collects a full hour of real, varied movement data - ground, stairs, slabs, water, lava, jumps, falls - while a heuristic engine builds per-player and population-wide baselines.
- 📐 Computes statistically sound thresholds (means, standard deviations, percentiles) instead of arbitrary magic numbers.
- 💾 Writes the results straight back into your live config and hot-reloads them - no restart required.
- 🧹 Tears the calibration world down automatically when it's done.
The result: thresholds that reflect how your players actually move, not a stranger's server.
🧑💻 Staff tooling
- 🔔 Live alert feed - in-game and console notifications the moment evidence crosses your configured thresholds, with violation count, confidence score, and diagnostic detail attached.
- 🪪 Player profile GUI - inspect a player's live check states, violation history, and skill/reaction metrics without leaving the game.
- 📜 Full audit logging - every calibration run, threshold change, and enforcement action is logged for accountability.
- 🔐 Granular permissions - bypass, alert-recipient, and admin-command permissions so you control exactly who sees what and who's exempt.
- 🌍 Multi-language support - ships with localized alert/UI strings out of the box.
⚖️ Enforcement, your way
SentinelCore separates detection from enforcement. By default it runs fully passive: gather evidence, score it, alert staff - nothing more. If and when you're ready for automated action, kick and ban thresholds are available and disabled until you explicitly configure them, so you're never surprised by an unwanted auto-punishment.
💡 Built for server owners who are tired of choosing between "too strict" and "too loose"
SentinelCore doesn't ask you to trust a black box. Evidence, decay, confidence, calibration, and full staff visibility - every flag is explainable, every threshold is tunable, and every false positive is a config value you can actually see and fix.
📦 Requires: Paper 1.21+ 🔗 Dependencies: None required for core functionality
