Originally created by Artemis_the_gr8, PlayerStats is a Spigot/Paper statistics plugin for viewing player stats in chat. This project continues that work with modern version support, and is distributed under the MIT license.

Description

PlayerStats lets your players look up Minecraft statistics without scoreboards, databases, or setup headaches. One central command can show a top 10, an individual player's stats, or a server-wide total

You can see things like distance flown via Happy Ghast, number of baked potatoes eaten per player, and much more!

Features

• One Command Does It All: /statistic (aliases: /stat, /stats) handles help, top lists, individual lookups, server totals, and tab-complete as you type
• No Database Required: Reads directly from existing playerdata files, so it works on old worlds and new ones alike — drop it in and go
• Readable Output: Time, damage, and distance stats are shown in Minecraft-friendly units, with extra detail in hover text
• Share to Chat: Players can share their last lookup with everyone via a share button (playerstats.share)
• Safe & Fast: Multi-threaded lookups keep the main thread happy and stop command spam from locking up the server
• PlaceholderAPI Support: Placeholders live in a separate expansion — grab it from GitHub, the PlaceholderAPI eCloud, or /papi ecloud download PlayerStats
• Language & Theming: Auto-translate stat names to the viewer's client language, customize names in language.yml, and toggle festive formatting or ✨ mode
• Who Shows Up Is Up to You: Whitelist-only mode, exclude banned players, hide specific players with /statexclude, and filter by last-join age for cleaner top lists (and better performance)
• Looks the Way You Want: Chat colors or hex colors, optional styling like italics, and flexible unit ranges for time/damage/distance
• Public API: Other plugins can request and format stats through the PlayerStats API

Permissions

• playerstats.stat — use /statistic (default: everyone)
• playerstats.share — share stats in chat (default: everyone)
• playerstats.reload — /statreload (default: op)
• playerstats.exclude — /statexclude (default: op)

Design Choice

Instead of mirroring stats into its own database or scoreboard system, PlayerStats reads Minecraft's own player statistics on demand. That means no sync jobs, no “plugin must have been installed from day one,” and no extra storage layer, just the numbers your world already has, calculated off-thread and printed in chat.

Why was this made?

As of fall 2026, developer Artemis-the-gr8 has gotten busy so because I really like this implementation of a statistics plugin and how lightweight and user friendly it is, I've decided to make a port for newer versions and to address the backlog of issues server owners have been requesting, under the MIT License she put up.
