HalfHearts

Don't let players die that easily.

HalfHearts is a lightweight Paper plugin that gives selected players a second chance. When a player would take enough damage to die, the damage is cancelled and their health is set to half a heart.

Simple mechanic. Simple commands. SQLite persistence. Nothing bloated.

Commands

/hh remove <player>	Remove a player from HalfHearts	halfhearts.command.remove
/hh list	List all HalfHearts players	halfhearts.command.list

How it works

When a registered player takes damage, HalfHearts checks whether that damage would kill them.

If it would:

Player takes damage
        ↓
Player is registered?
        ↓
       Yes
        ↓
Would the damage kill them?
        ↓
       Yes
        ↓
Cancel the damage
        ↓
Set health to ½ heart

The player stays alive with exactly half a heart instead of dying.

Installation

1. Download HalfHearts.jar.
2. Move it into your server's /plugins/ folder.
3. Start or restart the server.
4. Add a player using:

/hh add <player>

5. Let them almost die.

That's basically it.
