GateCheckMC

GateCheckMC is a Minecraft service made to filter known "bad" IP ranges or player usernames.
Example of blocked IPs: known bot IPs, VPN IPs, datacenter IPs (most VPNs). Example of blocked usernames (rarer): known hackers or hacked accounts.

This plugin uses an EXTERNAL API at https://gatecheckmc.lystech.org/api/v1

How to use GateCheckMC..?

Note that you only need the plugin on any instance of your Minecraft server that is publicly facing.

Example: In a Velocity network with 4 backends and 1 proxy (Velocity), you only need to install the plugin on the proxy. If there is just one Minecraft server, you need to install the plugin on that Minecraft server (Spigot or Paper).

How to start using the plugin? It is actually simple.

First: Install the plugin as described, then head to https://gatecheckmc.lystech.org/ to create an account. On the GateCheckMC website, after creating an account, go to "Servers" (GateCheckMC is fully free and plans to stay free for as long as possible, with no server limit). Click the button "Create Server" and give it a name. It will give you a token for your Minecraft server. Then head to your Minecraft server or network, and in the console (not in game), type /gatecheckmc key (your token). When the plugin has a saved token, it will start working.

It is not working !!!

If it is not working, please check in the config files if you added the correct key.
Maybe the backends are down. If so, you just need to wait for them to come back online (we try to stay online most of the time). Or you might be hitting rate limits. If you put the correct key, restart the server, it may fix ...

I have a big server, I am hitting rate limits !!!

If so, please contact us on our website. We can discuss plans to get you a higher rate limit if you own a "big" server.

GateCheckMC is still fully in BETA!! And for now may not be that "good" of a service, and some features may not be available, we will try to update the plugin and backend asap to provide the full experience!! For now, even in early beta, the plugin and backend WORKS!!
