Performance
- Section leap: Ray traversal can skip full 16×16×16 chunk sections that the server reports as air-only (
LevelChunkSection#hasOnlyAir). Long vertical air gaps (caves, open sky) no longer require stepping every empty block in the voxel grid before occlusion checks.
Configuration
section-leap(per world, underworld-settings.<world>.anti-xraywith the same key onworld-settings.default.anti-xray): enable or disable section skipping. Defaulttrue. Set tofalseif you need the legacy pure-DDA path for debugging or A/B testing.
Technical
- New
SectionRayMath(ray vs section AABB exit parameter) and DDA reseed after a leap so behavior stays consistent with the existing Amanatides–Woo block iterator.
Notes
- Requires a build that matches your Paper version (see project
paperVersion). Folia-supported; depends on PacketEvents as before.
