v1.1.3 - Minecraft 26.2 Support

What's New in v1.1.3

Improvements

• Minecraft 26.2 is now a supported and verified target (#23). No plugin changes were required: the WAYPOINT packet format is unchanged from 1.21.6 through 26.2, so the existing locator-bar hiding and recoloring works on 26.2 as-is.
• Firefly is now published to Modrinth with 26.2 in its game-version list, so 26.2 server owners can find and install it there.

Technical Changes

• The forward-compatibility CI job now compiles and runs the full test suite (58 tests, plus the JaCoCo coverage gate) against the 26.2 Paper API (26.2.build.121-stable with mockbukkit-v26.2), raised from 26.1.2. The 1.21.6 floor build is unchanged.
• Documentation now states the verified ceiling and the per-version packetevents minimum.

Breaking Changes

• None in this release.

Requirements

Firefly needs the packetevents plugin installed. The minimum version depends on your server:

Server	packetevents
1.21.6 - 1.21.11	2.10.1+ (first release with the full locator-bar waypoint API)
26.x	2.13.0+ (first release that knows the 26.2 protocol, 776)

Running packetevents older than 2.13.0 on a 26.x server will fail at runtime.

Installation

Download Firefly-1.1.3.jar and place it in your server's plugins folder.

Upgrading from a Previous Version

1. Stop your server
2. Replace the old JAR with the new one
3. Start your server
4. Player data and configuration are preserved across upgrades

Compatibility

• Minecraft: 1.21.6+ (locator bar) through 26.2
• Server Software: Spigot, Paper, Purpur, or Folia (Folia fully supported)
• Dependencies: packetevents (see Requirements above)
• Java Version: 21+ (tested on Java 21 and 25)
